02 C230 P0107

Hey guys, long time reader on the forums and I tried searching for my issue but couldn't find anything 100% applicable to my situation so I'm sorry if there is already a similar post elsewhere. I have a 02 C230 coupe and I recently had blown my head gasket. I replaced my head gasket as well as a few minor parts as I had it tore apart. I had to replace a cam gear due to being stripped so I replaced my cam sensors and magnets while I was in there. Had a leaky injector so I replaced my injectors as well. And I also replaced all my vacuum lines while I had it apart just because they were easily accessible. After driving for around 100 miles I threw a MAP code of P0107, I ordered a new MAP and replaced it. I reset the code and I was fine for a couple hours then it came back on again. Resetting the code now does nothing as it triggers instantly again upon restarting. Is it possible I got a bad MAP sensor? I'm just at a loss at this point.

Thanks

Anything is possible, but I'd check the connection 1st.
Make sure it's seated correctly,.
Pull the connector and reseat it.
Also, if you haven't invested in Icarsoft Mercedes codes reader...I suggest you do..
I'm getting on for Christmas
I know because I ordered it and my girl paid for it...since she had no idea what was talking about..
but we both drive benz so super useful.

not a merc
Yes check that its properly plugged in and that the tab on the plug is not broken. Also check the atmospheric sensor on the side of air box.
A very much doubt a new mb part will be faulty. Highly unlikely!

Sorry for the very delayed response. I have been working crazy hours and schedule has been very inconsistent. I haven’t gotten a Mercedes specific scanner yet. However I did test the MAP, MAF, and camshaft sensor wiring and they all tested fine. Replaced all the vacuum lines on the intake manifold/throttle body. Still getting the same code is showing up. I'm honestly at a loss here. Almost everything on my car in new, including PCM and all my sensors. Any more thoughts? Does anyone have the electrical and vacuum line diagrams by chance?

Thanks!

I did some reading on MAP sensors lately,
I think you'll need to check the voltage.
There's info around here somewhere, which wires to tap, and what you should see,
and you might possible need to run some wires all the way into the cab so you can monitor it,
If the pressure is too high, it will throw this code,
(like with an overdrive pulley or something) and some folks use a zener diode to
make a 'map clamp'.
Check here, and on benzworld W203 and also their R170 forum.
Those guys are the real 2.3L experts, really good technically.

That's probably my problem. I have a pulley and silencer removed. I can run a search for the zener diode thread and see if that works. God knows I have about 10,000 laying around. I have tested the voltages and everything is within range. Tested grounds and tested for signal shorting to ground and it was fine also. If you have a link to the thread that would be awesome! Thanks for your replies. I actually bought my C230 after I had seen what you had done with yours, so I appreciate your help and input

Nevermind, found a link to it. Going to try it and see what happens. I'll update as soon as I'm done

Same issues are going on. Performed MAP clamp with a 4.3, 4.7 and just to extertain myself a 5.1V. Still nothing, convinced the DMV to give me another temp permit to drive for another 15 days. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the MAP and also Cam sensors? I need to start tracing wires now to check for broken or lose grounds. If anyone has a pinout of the PCM that would be great so I can test continuity.

So I borrowed my buddy's Snap On reader which reads actual MB codes and not generic P codes. It's a P2004. So at least I got a better idea, but still have no idea what to do
