General Calliper Question
I have a bad calliper, it's Ioose and makes clunking noise over bumps. My guess is that it's hitting against the inside of the rim. Even the slightest bump is enough to make the calliper noisy.
The slider pins are fine. I swapped those from the good (right) one to the left one. Same result.
I was told that the slider pins have a tendency to 'wear out' the callipers, i.e. the holes in which the pins are located become loose over time. Why and how, i don't know.
So my question is:
Can the 'loose hole' in the calliper be repaired?
Like for example, fill in the holes and then drill them back again so that the pins will fit perfectly. I was also told that it had to be a very precise job.

so what is moving? You are describing a sound that occurs when you drive. Is there play when you remove the wheel and inspect the brakes? Front or rear? How do you know it is a brake problem when driving and not a suspension worn arm/rod/ball joint bushing problem?

Since I replace my own brake pads etc.
once I noticed a noise and a front calipers was loose.
Pulled the wheel, reached around and the tightened the bolts,
all done.
Moral of the story is to use locktite, but I didn't.
But I should have.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the help.
On a side note, my dad just replace both rear Stabiliser Link Bars on his W203. Most of the rear noises disappeared. One of the bushings was gone. I was thinking of changing the bushings on both Link Bars and putting them on mine.
Can i re use the link bars or should i replace them with new ones when the time comes?

I did apply some seal tape to the 2 10mm bolts that connect the caliper though. Will see how it turns out tomorrow on my way to work.

I finally went to a garage specialised in suspension yesterday. A friend of mine actually.
I change the rear suspension, front stabiliser link bars and the front sway bar bushings. Tested the car today and ALL the noises were gone!!! It looks like the stabiliser link bars or the sway bar bushings were the culprits.
The ride feels really smooth and comfortable now.
Thanks guys.
