So I have watched the youtube videos and searched on here. My fob's are working and clean. if I hold the fob to the passenger handle it will work sometimes and slowly. I checked all fuses and the only one popped was the one for the cigar lighter. Removed the penny from there, replaced the fuse and that solved that. I removed the side panels in the trunk trying to trace the wire that comes from the #8 fuse and am a little overwhelmed at the amount of items back there. I will fix the solder joints on the door handle receivers and that will get me by with locking the car but I need to get this sorted.

The fm reception is poor as well. I don't know much about the car as I just got it. 2002 c320 4 door sedan. All the videos and instruction on the web stops at the fuse or fob's but what do you guys think I can check next? any help would be appreciated.

Do you hear the siren? It's usually the siren itself, under the passenger side wheel well, that has fried or got wet, I'm having the same issue. Once I removed it the lights as if the alarm was going off started working, but I still need a new one in order for the key fob to work from a distance.

No siren or lights. So what I gather from your post is if I disconnect the siren I should get the lights to flash but not the unlocking/locking feature? Can anyone confirm if the fm reception is associated with the FOB reception? same antenna? same antenna amplifier?

Yes I verified the fobs are working the batteries are new and I did the camera test. I cleaned them and it will unlock when pointing at the passenger handle. I am aware of the dry contact issue on the rf receivers at the handles and plan on fixing those so it will improve at least that ability to unlock the car. The passenger side works when it wants to.
