2007 C230 Won't Start MAF Sensor?

I am throwing this thread out just to get some second opinions. First, the sequence of events.

Back in later September my sons C230 had the CEL light come on. I pulled the codes and got a P0172 and P0175, MAF sensor. We cleaned the sensor with some MAF cleaner and I cleared the codes. The CEL light didn't come back on, life is good.

Move forward a bit to mid-November, the CEL light comes back on. Pulled the codes again. this time I get a P2004, swirl flap problem. I did the research and found this is a common M272 problem and that it was most likely the adjuster on the front of the intake. I ordered a repair kit and took the intake off to install. when I got the intake off I found that the adjuster that typically breaks was intact but after fooling around with the actuators found that the actuator diaphragm was no good. I could suck and blow on a hose attached to the nipple on the actuator and air would move freely. So I order a kit with the actuators and replaced all 3 while I had the intake off. Put things back together, started the car and everything worked great. I cleared the codes again.

Move forward a couple more weeks and again the CEL light comes on. This time I have a P0175 (rich on bank 2) and 4 secondary codes that I don't have available right now but were related to camshaft sensors/position in camshaft A and B. I am thinking the root of the problem is the MAF sensor and I have ordered a Bosch replacement which I will have in a day or 2. My only fear is another thread on this forum where the poster had the same codes and his issue ended up being the ECM. Has anyone currently on this forum had this problem and what finally fixed it? thanks in advance for your input.

I've been doing a little more research. Is it possible I have it backwards? Could a failed/failing Camshaft Position Sensor being causing the rich condition?

Ok, here are the rest of the codes.

P0175 - System too rich bank 2
P0342 - Camshaft position sensor low input
P2094 - B Camshaft position actuator control circuit low bank 2
P0338 - Crankshaft position sensor A circuit high input
P2090 - B Camshaft position actuator control circuit low bank 1

Any input is greatly appreciated!

100 views and not a single response.

From what I have found my searching, P0342 is for the right side intake Cam Position Sensor. Last night I cleared all of the codes and swapped the intake sensors RH to LH to see if the code would follow the sensor. The car still wouldn't start but it did try, chugging at a few hundred RPM bit before dying. No new codes were set. I then swapped out the sensor that had originally been on the RH side intake location with anew sensor, no change.

For what it is worth, the P0175 code appeared twice, once as a stored code and once as a pending code. All of the other codes were pending codes. Does this suggest the MAF is the main problem and the others are just symptoms of the failed MAF?

Well....I put a new MAF sensor on this evening and still no luck. I have tried starting the car at least 6 times and no new codes have been set since clearing them last night. I could really use some advice. Surely someone else out there has had a similar issue.
