Heated steering wheel retrofit
So now that it's the cold season again my wife, who refuses to give up her ancient '04 C320 wagon, is dropping hints that she would really like a heated steering wheel. I told her she needs to get a new car, but that's not in the cards. So is there any way to retrofit a heated steering wheel in her car? Was that even an option for this chassis? I've been doing some research but have not come across any mentions of heated steering wheel either OEM or aftermarket for a W203. The only thing I've seen are covers, which I don't see as a practical solution. Basically two types of covers out there plug-in and battery, each have significant drawbacks. The plug-ins have to be unplugged when driving defeating the purpose unless you're willing to sit there for 10 to 15 minutes for it to warm up the wheel, The battery kind have a large battery pack that has to be attached to the wheel and is only good for about 30 minutes of use, meaning you have to charge it daily.

I have thought about this many many many times...
Just won't pull the trigger because it requires changing the wheel and the airbag. Given that I never want to see my airbag, I personally don't want to mess with that safety system/element.
Given that.
You need to swap it out with an E-Class unit. And ALL THE PARTS...I would source a wreck/part out car.
I have (what I believe are) the PNs and such written down somewhere...I will try to locate and post soon.
Good luck and share your results. Admittedly, it is "hands down" one of my favorite features on my wife's Town & Country!

Thanks for info. Swapping out the wheel with an E-Class sounds like a DIY job bigger than I'm ready to take on. Too bad there are no aftermarket solutions, other than the covers. I thought I give the forums a try before giving up. Looks like it's either a new car, move to warmer climes, or suffer for 4 months.

Are those ^ parts from a W211 E class? Reason I ask is, thinking about installing a heated steering wheel in a W211 E55.
