2006 C280 - Broken Foglight Lens

Buddy of mine has a broken Lens/Glass on his Front Fog Light, Passenger Side.
As the light still works, I am wondering if the glass by itself can be swapped/replaced, or does one need to buy the complete Light Assembly?

Anyone have the required part numbers?

Thanks very much in advance.

I changed the lens on my 2002, C230 Coupe. Easy, I did it in the curb lane in front of the dealer. Relatively inexpensive part. My lamp/bulb still worked too, until it got wet then...Pop! I don't know what specific model you're actually asking about, but, that's my story.

Thanks very much for the reply.
I am asking the question for a 2006 C280, as stated in the subject line. If it worked on your C230 Coupe, I would imagine it would work on the C280 Sedan as well.

well it is the lens/reflector that is broken, that is what needs replacing. The bulb is separate.. You can probably get used.

Get part number from Dealer.
Yeah, I swapped my frosties for clears on my 02 years ago and painted
the inside of the housing.
Back then they were like 9 bucks a piece online, likely more now.
Simple and obvious repair. Like a couple bolts and clips that hold glass on.

Thanks very much everyone.

I purchased the lens tonight and watched a YouTube video, looks pretty straight forward.

Yep, if you get down the car it is just two hex bolt, metric 8 or 6mm (don't recall exactly). Then it pops backwards with the entry fog light assembly. Once down there are 3 or 4 clips that you can remove with a screwdriver, from there chaing the lens is pretty obvious and you can assemble it back in reverse order.
Sealant is not mandatory neither recommended BUT I bought a chinese replacement few months ago that made it so bad with water that I had to get it down and seal it as a temporary fix, luckily me saved the original and few weeks after that swapped the glass lens of the chinese with the assembly of the original fog light (I was lucky it fitted, not always does), and then no sealant was required.
