Oil pooling around left engine mount
2005 C230k ~180k miles, daily driver
This car has burned oil since we bought it, but has recently started leaving little puddles. Today I took the undercarriage protectors off and noticed there was a lot of oil on the oil pan and some of the linkages. As I inspected further up, there is nothing on the right side of the engine, but I can see a pretty decent amount of oil collecting around the left engine mount and the left side of the engine. I point out the engine mount as it sits higher than the oil pan gasket, leading me to believe it is not that. Any ideas where I could be loosing all this oil? I have to had maybe a quart per month.

How about valve cover gaskets? I smell burned oil from my 02 w203 wagon when driving..but I haven't pulled that plastic drip pan off so I can see up where it is leaking. Previous owner told me he replaced valve cover gaskets...I have to have a look see...I'm not sure what else could leak except 'head gaskets'...hope it's not that! Oil in the coolant, a bi-product, will be scene as white froth to the underside of the oil-fill cap....Looks like mayonaise!
