DtS - I have an Audio 10 Question
Hi DtS,
I bought Raymond's old Audio 10 unit and it works great. He has a user's manual in English on the way, but I have a question in the meantime: In the CD mode, when you depress the driver's side 4-way toggle (the "ear" in the 3:00 o'clock position), an "SC" indication appears in the display. I can't tell what, if anything, it does. When you depress it again, the indicator goes away. Any ideas? Thanks

Puhh, I don't have the car nearby, nor the manual. I'll have to get back to you later today. My initial guess is that it might be "intro-scan" on the CD-tracks, ie. a few seconds will be played of each song, then it will skip to the next song... But I have to check it out to be sure not spreading lies around

When enabled, the "SC" scans the first 5 seconds or so of each track, then forwards to the next until you disable it. Not as good as scanning a track, but at least it's something.

Even though I think this is a feature you can live without: -well like you said, it's nice to have it instead of nothing.
I just can't understand how they could design/build this device without a track-scanning function. Very mysterious, don't you think?

Yes, I agree. They really should have a track scanning feature, and I'd also like to see a track clock to tell you how many minutes/seconds the song has played. But it beats the hell out of the stupid cassette player that came in the car!

what are the chances that the new in dash cd player (US) will work in our cars? b/c i don't want to lose the AM function but having a useless tape deck kinda sucks.
i do like the numberpad on the current deck though, b/c i like to hit the disc number for the cd-changer or going to a specific track.
