2007 c230 sport starting issue

Hello everyone, not sure if this is the right place to ask but ive been having some issue with my 2007 MB c230 sport for the past few days. 3 days ago i got into my car and tried starting it, the engine wouldnt start all the way up and the battery light came on a few times. Ended up jumping it with another car and was fine the rest of the day. The next morning same thing happened, the engine would start but not completely and would die on me. turned it off and on again and same thing happened but i gave it some gas by pressing on the pedal and the engine started spinning normally, left it on for about 10 min and again was good for the rest of the day. Woke up this morning for work and once again the same issue happened, engine wasnt starting properly so i gave it some gas and revved it up, engine died all together. Turned it off and back on and did the same thing, the engine started running again. I recently had the thermostat and camshaft sensors replaced because of an engine light that popped up and it started a few days after those were replaced not sure if related or not. My mechanic did tell me that the car needs a new alternator but not sure if thats related since this issue has never happened. Took the car too autozone earlier today to have the battery tested and it came back fine, voltage was at 12-14. Any thoughts on what might be happening? Any info would br greatly appreciated!! Not really knowledgeable when it comes to these things.

Fyi, i live in California and it has been pretty chilly these past few days going under 40 degrees outside so not sure if that says anything

Hi there is some misunderstanding. First of all you dont give gas by pressing on the pedal. Fuel has stable pressure the hole time and by pressing throtle, ecu triger injectors and gives you more fuel. Second you can see the battery voltage (google search for this menu).Before you start the car it should have about 12.1-12.4 volts. When its on after some seconds it should be stable at about 13.7.The stable voltage is a way to see if your alternator is fine. If its not stable in the most cases its the voltage regulator. You dont need to change the whole alternator. In your problem many things could be the reason. First check the battery and alternator. The times you said the engine starts but not completly what sound it makes? Like working 2-3 culinders?(dont know the correct word) In this condition you will feel a vibration. If thats happen it means you dont have fuel or spark. A friends car have oil leak from one of the four gasket that seals the cylinder head cover with the coil and spark plug. It was full of oil, so spark goes out. I clean it, change the gasket and its fine.Then i would check the camshaft and crankshaft sensors to make sure there is no oil leaking and the connections.Then i would check fuel pressure(there is a "valve" in the fuel rail,like tyres have for air. When the engines dies you can press it and see if there is pressure.The best is to have a scan tool to see the fault codes or to go to a workshop tha has.
