DOOR LOCKS NOT WORKING

1991 420 SEL
DOOR LOCKS NOT WORKING
2006 C230 SPORT SEDAN.
Key fobs (2) suddenly stopped working. Doors won't lock or unlock, same with trunk.
Checked both fobs batteries (3v) Sat.
Checked the #8 fuse (7.5a) in the trunk. Sat.
Tried to use the IR at the door handle. Fail.
Fobs do not have a telltale red light, or a IR window.
Mechanical key in fob will lock and unlock the drivers door only.
Mechanical key will lock and unlock the trunk.
Both fobs will start the car.
Disassembled both fobs and checked the IC boards for obvious signs of fried traces and components. None
Watched a pant load of Youtube videos. No help.
If it isn't the fob batteries or the fuse, the trail goes cold.
Any ideas?

Door locks and trunk release all work from interior switches.
As I mentioned above there is no LED on either fob. Nor are there any IR windows. There is an IR window on the door handle.
