AshTray To USB Port Conversion!
Looking For Suggestions On My Ashtray In The Benz, I Already Converted The Arm Rest Center Console, As You Can See From The Photos, My Original Post, I Was Trying To Identify Some Cables And No One Seems To Want To Answer The Question, So I Converted The CellPhone Compartment Into A Female USB To Charge, Since The Console Has Vents To Cool, Figured It Was A Viable Option To Store The Charge Port. ✌.
Now My New Question Is Merely Just Suggestions, I Am Looking To Turn My Back Seat Center Console Ashtray Into USB Ports And If Possible One Outlet Port On One Side, Tied N Connected To The Cigarette Port In The Arm Rest Center Console Whereas Its Hidden. Ive Might Have DIscovered A Way To String The Wires Through By Drilling A Small Hole Into The Inside Of The Ashtray Holder Hidden. So This Area, I Might Have Solved, I Would Love Feedback, And Suggestions On The Best Way To Convert This Ashtray Into The Ports I Need To Slide It Back In When Not Needed. See Below For Photos.
Note: The Port Used Is For 200 Watts Only. No Need For More Than That. ✌.
Using Original Cig. Port For Use In ArmRest Compartment Without Sacrificing The Port Itself
Velcroed The Wiring To Stick.

The Universal USB Line. USB 2, N 3.
Now We Have More Space Since Removing The Original PhoneLine Tray Compartment.
Removed Original Tray Inside The Arm Rest Phone Compartment N Complete Removal Of PhoneLine To Install The Female USB Port Inside To Use For Any USB Attachments, And Then Created A Whole New Carpet Layout To Cover Over Details Surface For Looks.

This Is The Ashtray Spot I Am Focused On
Finalized The Ashtray To USB Ports, Using Two Standard USB A's. And One Super Charge USB-A And One USB-C. Connected To The Cig Underneath The ArmRest Panel Wired Through The Outtake Air Vent. Close-Up.
Far-View Of The Ashtray To USB Tray.
Med-View Of The Ashtray To USB Tray.
Inside Where The Wires Go.
Where The Wire's Are Going, Had To Keep Two Loosened To Allow Tray To Open N Close Properly.
Open View In The Console Where The USB Wires Connect To.
Removed Velcroed Wire From Outside N Moved It Inside The Armrest Console From The Outtake Air Vent.

What do you plan to use the rear USB ports for? I installed two charging ports where the ashtray was…I’ll have to update this link….

@BF_JC230 - For Basic Charges
Just To Charge SmartPhones. Nothing Else. Basic Charges, But The Outlet Is Designed To Charge Devices Like The Nintendo Switch Or Steam Deck When It Launches. ✌. The USB 3 Port Can Also Be Used To Charge The Switch, But I Dedicated That Port For Under The Armrest Lid Where The PhoneLine Used To Be!

I Was Going Towards The Flush Mounts Of The USBs N Outlet, But, This Looks Like U Went The Other Way Around, Which Looks Easier Bc I'd Have To Make A Custom Lid, Cut N Shape It To Fit The Tray, But Looks Like Ur Idea, They Just Fit Snuggly Into The Tray. Hopefully U Are Able To Send Me The Links To Buy Em Soon! I Do Appreciate It! ✌

BF_JC230 Wow. Looks good. Where did you wire in the power?
Personally I used the existing armrest wiring to add 5V USB power. The stock phone cradle wiring is much too thin to draw too much juice (I'd say 0.5-0.7A max) without a significant voltage drop (>0.25V), so I just use it to trickle charge my MP3 player. The main advantage of my setup is that the power isn't switched, so I can simply leave the mp3 player plugged in overnight and I'm good for the next few weeks of driving. Also the setup is fully reversible as I use the 10 pin RJ50 stock plug (the one that looks similar to Ethernet) as well. The setup was also capable of charging a 2000s era candy bar phone, but won't cut it for modern smartphones. I just use a low profile 2 port USB cigarette adapter next to the coin holder.

Your Idea's, Helped Mine, I Appreciate The Photo's. I Installed A Fabric On-Top To Make It Match Inside The Armrest Console Itself, So Now When You Slide It Out, It Looks Better Than Showing The Plastic N Rest. Looks More Natural N Suitable. Without Ur Idea, I Wouldn't Have Figured Mine Out! Thanks Brother! ✌⬅️
I Uploaded The Updated Photo's. Please Seek Them Out In The OP And Let Me Know What Ya Think! 😎

@BF_JC230 I Appreciate It, Urs Looks Great, Loved It, I Am Just Glad To See I Am Not The Only One With The Idea Of Converting It To USB. I Figured I Be The Only One Like That, Bc Being A Benz Most People Are Too Afraid To Mod 😂😂. But The Newer Cars, U Don't Have The Luxury Like We Do With These Year Models. But Either Way, My Next Attempt Is To Install A Wireless Charge Spot Above The Ashtray Area. Thanks So Much For Ur Help N Idea's. ✌
