no 6spd Sport Sedans available in all of West Coast!!!
Well, i just spent the whole day at 2 dealerships haggling and negotiating..
and one problem in the end.. There are absolutely no 6spds availavle in all of the west coast and neighboring states!
BTW! what do you guys think of this deal?
45 month lease.
$1000.00 down
$429.99 a month inclusive of all taxes.
I still have my LMT coupon.. but i'm trying to get as low as possible before i use it..
Price of the car came out to $29,032 with 6cd changer and Sunroof.

check with smythe european in san jose. they could have a c230wz in brilliant silver with 6-speed, lighting, sunroof, comand navigation, h/k premium sound, 6-disc changer, and fold down rear seat, unless they already sold that car.
I had ordered that car before i found out i could get a 6-speed on a C320wz. the dealer never canceled the 1st order and last week the salesman told me the C230wz had come in. today, my 2nd order, the C320wz came in.

alright. the 6-speed is so cool to drive though. the gear spacing is so close and shifting requires very little effort. If you like to drive a stick, you got to get a c-class with a 6-speed. i think it's worth waiting 13-weeks to get one good luck.

Wouldn't the deal on mbusa.com be better?
36 month lease @ $349 per month
$349 (1st month) + $2,385 (capitalized cost) + $795 (acquisition)
=
TOTAL:
$3,529 down
Advertised lease rate based on MSRP of $32,180
Includes destination charge, Sunroof Package and CD changer

the 6-speed on the c230 sucks, imho. clutch is vague at best, shifting is vague, and the synchros suck. fast 3-2 downshifts produce grinding gears, even when rev matched. buy the auto, its better. cant believe i said that, but mb still doesnt know how to build a stick, and probably never will at this point.

why buy a trans that mb is only offering to try to woo sporty drivers? mb spends all of its transmission r&d money on the autos (7G for example) so there is no money left over for any sticks, nor is there a point. sticks account for almost no revenue generation. there isnt any reason to waste money developing a good stick to please the .1% of buyers who can tell the difference. so what happens is that mb puts a call thru to getrag or zf asking for a trans for their c-class cars, the supplier says ok, and they just put in whatever the supplier gives them.

Hmmm....
Maybe get something to tide you over for few weeks to drive, something cheap, and do a Euro pickup...
ah that would be cool...
MB USA has a great deal on a 5 day trip with hotels and everything for 2...wish I'd done that

I love my six speed. I even ordered it without ever driving one. The automatic just didn't have the "get up and go" I was looking for. The six speed is much better. It's all personal preference. I ran into the same problem as you. I needed a car and couldn't find a manual. I ended up ordering one and borrowing a friend's 85 toyota camry. Sure glad I did!

Hey c203 shifter is just fine.
The best shifters in my book are Miata & S2K, yes MB's are different, not necessarily inferior. I don't like extremely short first gear, but I'm getting used to it. MB shifter is more about easy-to-used & smooth feeling, yet utilizing all the fun that this small supercharger can provide. I 100% understand if some people don't like it depending on their expectation, but it's more natural fit for MB brand name IMO.

yep. I wanna be part of the machine like that song "Welcome to the machine" by Pink Floyd
I just enjoy the interaction I would get from a pure manual more than anything else. Some people like to listen to other people's playing the piano. I like to play the piano more than listening to other people playing the piano, even though I know I don't play the piano as well as some people do

i checked out the z4 roadster recently. I think the throws on both cars (z4 and 05 c) are about the same.
