I have some questions about the cl203 sport coupe!
Hey everyone. I currently have a 1999 c230k w202 and I love it too death, but I am also actually looking for a 2001-2002 Mercedes c230k sport coupe. But I have a few questions about the car I’m hoping you guys can give me answers to before I buy one. Now whenever I research the car online, I get different answers on every site I look. Now in the USA, the 2001-2002 sport coupes have a 2.3L supercharged motor just like in my 1999 w202 right? Or is it a 2.0L supercharged? I think the engine code on my 99 w202 is m111.975, idk if I have that right but hopefully I do lol. What’s the engine code for the 01-02 sport coupes? Is it the same engine or is it different? I will just modify my 99 w202 instead if the 01-02 sport coupes have a smaller 2.0l supercharged engine. Now if the sport coupes do have a 2.3l supercharged engine and a 5 speed manual transmission I’m Going to immediately start searching Craigslist and OfferUp as soon as I get the answers lol

MY2001-2002 have the 2.3L M111 engine. These were marketed as C230k. Will be the same base engine (111) as your W202. Might be a different variant though.
MY2003-2005 have a 1.8L M271 engine. It was also marketed as C230k.
MY2006-2007 has a 2.6L M272 engine. These were marketed as C230 (no "kompressor").

No clutch on supercharger, runs constantly, output is throttled, and uses M45 supercharger vs. M62 (or is it M65?)
Runs stock at 7 psi but pulley brings it up to 11psi.
Final incarnation on R170 SLK is 111.983 I think. Mostly the same. Many parts are the same.

It is the M111 Evo with the M45 Eaton charger. Only problem with this engine is a coolant leak from the cylinder head gasket at cyl 4, right above the clutch. If you buy one, look behind the engine. And, a minor oil leak at the joint of head, block and front cover, which is just cosmetic, above the chain tensioner at the charger side.
