2001 C180 Classic W203 Chassis Sedan
2001 W203 C180/200 wheel ET calculating.

G'day all, I have this 2001 C180 N/A 2.0 ltr car that my wife drives around in. I cannot leave things alone and I am forever doing something to it or my BMW X5. No, I am no rich bugger I just bought them at the right price and spent time doing what others could not be bothered doing.

So the issue to hand. I have these Blox/Bonos sport adapters coming, 15mm thick that will take the 112 Bolt to 114.3 Stud. This means I can fit a variety of the wheels out their now and the "NEW" CBH is Ford sized 70.6. while the inner is Mercedes 66.6. So I retian the hubcentric wheel fitting.
The wheels I have for it are similar to the Simmons in looks with polished alloy rims and gold centers in the wire mesh look. The Wheel dimensions are 17x7.5, et 35, cbh 70.6mm and 5x114.3 pcd.The Current wheels are 16x7, et 45, 66.6 cbh and 5x112 pcd.

I have played with various wheel simulators online and come out with the optimum tyre size of 225/45R17. To accomplish this when I add in the pcd to the calculator (ET35) I subtract the 15mm of the adapter spacers, thus giving me an offset of ET20. Is this correct in my math?

Many of the other mitigating factors stated are somewhat unusual as the 16" Mercedes rim is certainly no lightweight when compared to the replacement mags and the idea that they will weigh in almost a whole Kg heavier is far from reality.
Next is the speedo variation, that has worked out to a insignificant figure of 0.2km/h on the high side.

So now this is where I need those of you who have fitted wider rims to C180 / C200/ C240, Coupe and Wagons to help me out. Tell me your wheel configurations on any model really of the smaller C Class, whether it be 18x8 or 17x8 or something different. and what your offset is. Also any issues you have experienced.

The spacers are 15mm and also adapters. They will bolt into the existing 112 pcd with supplied lug bolts. As well as changing the PCD, it also converts them to lug nut configuration at the same time. This is how I can bolt 114.3 pcd ET35 wheels on.

The final analysis says that the tyre will stick out 35mm more than the 205/55R16 ET45. The rear does not seem to be a problem, but I am concerned about the front.

Oh yes, is there anyone who has wheel alignment experience who can explain what "positive scrub" means? It seems that this is something I will have by fitting the rims and tyres I want on there

To look at the car right now, I could fit 50mm more before it is under the fender curves. Can some of you tell me what you are running, because I see plenty of really nicely set up versions of this model with the wheels on the edge and it beats me how they do it.

Take a look at the German regulation for wheel spacers.

https://www.h-r.com/bin/00EUTG37.pdf

You see a lot of different wheels and the spacer thickness. The "Auflage (recommendation)" A5 or A6 means you have to modify the fender or wheelhousing to fit in.
