Passenger seat Occupation Sensor Replaced But..
I am having a weird electrical issue. I couldn’t find previous posts with the exact issue.
I have a 2005 c200 kompressor that had faulty passenger weight sensor mat and had an SRS light due to that. I went ahead and replaced the mat, the SRS light is now gone and the passenger airbag is working.
However, the car now thinks there is a passenger in the seat although there is no one sitting. When I buckle the seatbelt while no one is sitting, the weight sensor starts working properly and airbag turns off. And when someone sits while the seatbelt buckled, airbag activates as it should. I will attach a video for clarification. (So seems like the issue is that the mat works properly only when seat belt is buckled. If it’s not buckled it will think there is some sitting on the seat all the time).

Before replacing the sensors, I had codes 9026, 9025 and 902D as active and stored. I tried to clear them after replacing the sensor, they still show up but only as stored and not active.
I tried checking for loose connections under the seat but things looked good. Is re adaptation of the mat something can be done on these cars with the appropriate scan tool? Or is there a a specific fuse I need to check? Any help would be appreciated!
