Test drive at 2pm

Well. I'm finally getting to test drive a new C230K sedan. Looking forward to it. I will not be in the market for a new car until April or so, however I've been itching to testdrive the 2005 kompressor sedan/coupe. I'm 23, and this is my graduation present to myself after completing my Masters Degree. It's too bad I can't buy right now, the dealer is advertising selling all 2005's at or below invoice. Hopefully I can get a good deal later on. What should I look for or pay attention to during the test drive? I've test driven plenty of cars before, however I wasn't sure what I should pay attention to with this car. It looks fantastic!

Congrats on your present to yourself - I'm doing the same when I graduate with my BS. The manual on this car is excellent, you should take it into serious consideration. Pay attention to whether or not you like certain options, like full leather and the sunroof package. Options can quickly build up the price. Ask what they're charging for oil changes, since that's no longer included in the maintenance program. Otherwise, I would only specifically pay attention to details of the exact car I am buying, such as alignment and paintwork. Good luck, and you'll have fun with the test drive!

So I test drove a C320 coupe and a C230k sedan. The sedan was a much better drive. Much sportier. And it is a beautiful car inside and out. I think that after driving one, I have made my decision on my future car. I've been considering several others. but, for the price and the extremely nice service I recieved, I may have to go MB. I love it.
The power adjustable steering wheel was awesome.

Both 05's? I think your BS'ing us. The C320 Coupe is more than a match for the C230 sedan. Was the coupe an auto, and the sedan the stick? Traditionally, the Coupe has had the more sporting components.

What would I gain from BSing on here. There are enough people that do that already. I drove two '05s. Both were autos. I never said the C230k was faster, I said it felt sportier. The ride was stiffer, when the kompressor kicked in, that was pretty sweet as well. The 320 would pull away quicker most probably, it just wasn't as sporty feeling. They were both sport C-class cars, my post was saying the C230k was sportier FEELING than the C320. That's all outland.

u assume too much. C320 coupe non sport vs C230k sport sedan. I'll let u guess which has a more beefed up suspension.

thank you frank. the coupe was solid, but not as sporty feeling. the kompressor coupe may be different, but the 320 had almost TOO good of a ride. the kompressor sedan let enough of the road jitters through, and was plain fun to drive. it gets my vote.

Yeh, I thought about that, but near where I live it's a lot of stop and go traffic, and it's a pain to drive a stick. My other car option (I'm probably gonna get blasted for this) is a Nissan 350Z. However, practicality is totally thrown out of the window with that car. I love it, however I'd get an auto with that even, simply due to the rush hour traffic and traffic around town. Plus, I like to just shift it into gear and go, with no other shifting. I guess I'm lazy. but, the Mercedes definitely surprised me today! I was totally excited after my test drive. The dealer told me I would qualify for the college grad program, I'm wondering what interest rate I can get with that though. Who knows...my credit score he said was really great, and I've got about 5k to put down. But. the test drive was NICE. the power seats and steering wheel may have been my favorite feature. along with one touch windows and sunroof. the whole car is awesome.

I asked a salesman about that too, and he was unaware of a college grad program. I also don't see mention of one on the US website. If you don't mind, could you post what you know about it, and I will ask the dealer to give me more details.

Thanks,
Brad

The dealer told me they should have one in place fairly soon. I think they may have a first time buyer program as well. I haven't found it on the MB website either.
The other cars I've been debating on are the 350Z and the Land Rover Discovery. For some reason I'm stuck on name brand cars, even though these three are TOTALLY different in every way possible. I've been leaning towards the 350 until driving the MB. But, I guess it will depend on the best price and payment I can get.
I don't really like the G35 sedan, but I do like the coupe. Who knows! Too many decisions to make! Out of the cars named in this post, which would you get. (try not to be partial to the MB since most of you own them!!! just joking)

Thanks for your response. Since I plan on purchasing by the end of March, I hope this program is implemented soon. I'll ask dealers what they know.

About the G35 - it's not worth the price. Lots of power, but poor materials with abundant plastic. The sedan's styling isn't much to brag about, and the coupe is pricey. I found the Acuras to be a better quality product regarding Japanese cars.

I actually had considered the BMW until the price came into question. I might would consider a slightly used one, but I'd really like a brand new car. Also, the G35 sedan isn't that great looking, I agree Brad.
As far as the Acura, I've test driven the TSX. didn't like it...too small. The sedan up from that, I think the TL (?) is really nice looking. Pretty sporty and all. Just not sure if I can pay 33k for a nice Honda. But, we'll see. The MB still looks pretty good.

There is no such thing Frank. All Coupes have the Sport suspension, its been that way since day one. Keep em coming Frank.

On these points, I agree. The G35 sedan is rather dull looking. The Coupe is good looking, but the grille on the coupe is too big for a sporty car.

Yeah, when you spend this kinda cash, bragging about a flashy Honda is just that.
