Brake lining wear. Now what..
 

Got the brakes replaced on c230 after the brake lining warning. But the warning won't still go away after the replacement. The senser in not worn off in any way. How do you get rid of the warning. :nix:

Sensors are a one shot deal, it's just a piece of plastic with a metal strip inside, then the plastic touches the rotor it breaks the connection and you get the warning. You have to replace the sensors once tripped.

Also i just changed the fronts. Rears were fine. Do i need 2 sensors or one for the fronts?

I think they cheaped out on the coupe, and its only 1 sensor per axle.

The sensors are in the middle of the pad so you have to remove the pad to insert the sensor, it's up to you if you can do it or not. The wire end plugs into a harness so that's no problem.

That sucks, I have not checked the C, but even my 190E has four sensors!

My '02 C240 had 1 sensor up front.

Who did the pads?
They didn't replace the sensor?
Yeh, it's like a < 5 dollar part...

One sensor should be sufficient for each axle. The pads should wear pretty evenly, unless the left caliper is stuck. In which case, you should feel it.

I can't remember on the single piston calipers, but on the four pistion caliper, I believe it is replaceable without taking the brakes off.
