Headliner Removal In Coupe

Has anyone or does anyone know how to remove the headliner in the coupe? I tried a search and could not find anything. Any DIY instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Have you already removed all the trim around the edges of the headliner, along w/ the rearview mirror, sunroof control pod and all overhead lights?

the front seat belts no, the trim around the seat belts (basically the hght adjustment) yes. the trim on the A, B and C pillar come off. the handles, rear view mirror, the over headlighting in front and rear. i know those for sure off the top of my head. ill scan it tonight and post it here so others can access it, and ill also email it to you. i have work until 5pm and class from 6-10pm so i wont be uploading until late, just so you know.

I have two goals. One, I want to see how much weight I can drop from the car by gutting the interior, I also want to know how to not destroy it, and be able to put it back in. Two, I want a good look at the Pano roof. I've had some discussion about stiffening the structure by spot welding any seems up there, and reducing weight by replacing the pano panels with fiberglass panels. I would lose the glass but retain function of the large front sunroof.

He's into racing....wierd, eh?

Next you'll be welding up the doors and climbing in through the pano roof. Are you more Luke or Bo?

Make sure you include proper keywords in your post - may save some time (and repetitive questions) in the future.

Im getting my seats and interior done in black and silver leather. I want to have the headliner done in black leatherette to match and i want to remove myself, have them reapolster it and reinstall it myself. This way i can save some money and they dont mess up my car.

THANK YOU CITRON!!!

see this thread- https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/99176-pics-vir-nasa-track-day-2-18-2-20-a.html it'd be nice is more than 3% of the viewers posted comments. more hp, less weight = faster car Other CRAZY things I've done are bought two sets of ugly wheels because they weigh 15.8 and 18 lbs /wheel. Did a stud/lug nut conversion because the Rogue Engineering kit weighed 4 lbs. including the allen wrench used to tighten the studs LMAO. Removed my fog lights, next up is brake cooling ducts, BBK, chip and head work!

Outland, I added 9 new pics. The rest are a lot of the same. One day I will get to posting them all somewhere in a image site. Still need to get the vids up... My proudest moment, coming up on the C32 at 130mph into the braking zone of turn 1 at VIR and the instructor saying, "You want that pass real bad don't you?"

Here's me after the pass on the straight before the Upper Esses.

that's a good one...

nukblazi, fair enough, i knew a guy who was into this in austin, he was part of a huge car club and he told me one time they rented out the texas motor speedway for a weekend and set up a road course. i cant remember the name of the course, but he said he had a ****ty little golf and his tires fell apart from driving it so fast on the track...

Take a look at the pic of me taking off my helmet and tell me if I look more like a Bo Duke or a crackhead on no sleep!

Welding the doors, no. But Autohaus Pompano received permission to use "doors made of alternate materials" in the Speed World Challenge and I am emailing Peter Lockhart trying to see if I can get a set.

See Garage
I'm curious... With all this playing to remove the headliner and replace it with leather, has there been any concern for how these mods affect the curtain airbag system? If one is not removing the airbags altogether, I guess I would be concerned about the deployability of the bags once the materials are altered, of the prospect of messing up the system during the install.
