Talking #'s today, what should I expect for lease rates?

Never leased before either ... never owned a MB either ... so a lot of firsts.

I tried using the mbusa.com config tool to get an idea of what I should be looking for, but something with the 07's is really screwy. It was cheaper to lease an E350 sport than it was to lease an 07 C350?!? By a significant margin too.

I'm guessing they made the residuals on the 07 C high because they don't actually want those on lease.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to walk in expecting something unrealistic.

The residuals were supposed to be released yesterday. My salesperson checked yesterday afternoon and they had not...

Never go by the lease calculator on MBUSA.com is your first rule of leasing.

This is just speculation, but with nothing down I would expect the C300s to lease in the $600s and C350s to lease in the $800s. Anyone care to comment?

I just got back. Not much available for sale in the near future anyway, so I sort of got cut loose since he didn't really have anything to sell me.

Most of the 300's were spec'd up to base 350 prices. $800 for a 350 lease, if that what ends up coming out to ... don't have any reason to doubt you, just using it for comparison ... would be an extremely unattractive option. Not saving anything over a purchase.

I said I was just speculating, but based on what I know of the current C-Class, that is what I would guess. I also meant with nothing down, so putting a couple grand down will affect the payment.

Wow. That's a big lease for a sub-$40k car. That's approaching the lease rates of the E350 off mbusa.com (excuse me if I'm not doing apples-apples, I'm total newb to the leasing game ... that just seems excessively hight when a purchase payment wouldn't be any higher).

yea these leases are crazy....its the bank that is killing them right now with their unusually high Money Factors....I am going to wait until October maybe even November. They will get them straightened out....Mercedes will end up having their usual 399 lease for a c300 with probaly 2000 due at signing...

The Benz Dealership in Houston told me the money factory on an 08 C300 sport is .0039 with a residual of 61% on a 36 month lease. That is crazy because your looking at about a 9.36% interest rate. The salesperson also said that your looking at $800 a month with zero down an a c300 sport, manual trans, Palladuim Silver ($710) with P2 ($2,750), Multimedia ($2,950), 18' amg rims ($1,000), and ipod connector ($375). They are awfully sure that lots of people will jump on this, No Discount !! FYI, for every 1k down, your payments will go down about $35 bucks on this lease program. I like the car but not at that deal. Honestly, the bmw 335i can be had for the same price if not cheaper because of the lease specials. I am just afraid of the fuel pump problems the car is having. Oh well, hopefully a lease special will be out shortly.

Dont worry about it....Its just the banks that are messing it up right now. Those cars are so "hot" (quote from the dealers) b/c no one has heard about the lease rates yet...As soon as the MF goes down to .0020 or .00175 we will be fine and im guessing that this will happen no later than november.. Theres no way that these cars are going to be nearly as hot and the 335i sedan or the 3 series coupe (which you can lease at the same price and they are in higher demand and more expensive) with some patience we will be fine lol...

With no money down C300 should go under $400 and C350 under $500. At least people pay for 335 around $420.

i think we need to look at leasetrader if you want to see what people pay all these high end vehicals. Thts where I can see what I get amonth with out putting a huge amount down to get in a lease. I look at the CLK`s to see what a possible new C class will cost me.

this is a lot more reasonable than the $800 est. considering you are only leasing a car that is under 40k.

Yeah...after my test drive, I asked about leasing instead of buying and the salesmen told me for the same money he could get me in an E350. That would be nice, but to me the E is sort of looking dated these days.....

I guess I'll have to go the purchase route or maybe try out the Audi A5 when it hits our shores or possibly the new CTS 3.6 coming in October.
I don't fit good in the 335 Bimmer or I would probably do that.

the 328 and the c300 are based on the same price and right now you can lease TWO 328s with zero down for 798 a month....CHEAPER THAN ONE C300!.....that is completely nuts

Between the 'we're not moving off msrp because the car is so new' and the, trade-in rape quote and the laughable lease rates this *definitely* won't be my first benz ... at least not for another 4-6mo. Oh well, at least that gets me out of the 'new toy/first-on-the-block' excitement phase and I can sit back and wait for the options to get ironed out.

I think all of you need to slow down...

There is no way the lease prices are going to be that much, they won't sell any. I think reasonable leases would be around $500 for a C300 and $700-800ish for a C350 depending on the options.

ok so help me figure out the payment for me. I have never leased and want to see if its worth it. This is from my MB dealer

C350 $42900
C300 $39000
Lets use the same number for both models please just to see:
At this time Residuals are as follows
36mo/ 15,000 mpy on a C350 = 58%
36mo / 15,000 mpy on a C300 = 59%
for 36mo / 12,000 mpy add 2%

I agree. I don't believe you will be able to a get C300 for less than 400 with no money down nor a C350 for less than 500. I'm thinking low 500s for a C300 and mid 600 to 700 for a C350. I'm speaking of a 3yr/36 lease. Of course, I'm guessing like the rest of us.

Those lease prices seem high to me considering my first lease was a loaded CL500 at $600 per month. Yes, it was used....but still under warranty and quite a machine. If the C is leasing above $700/mo I think I'll look elsewhere.

I ordered mine today. C300, P1, 18" Wheels, Automatic.

The lease rates aren't great but aren't horrible. With $1500 down, 39 month lease, 10,000 miles...the payment was $570 with tax....it is $30 more per month than a 328i with similar options.

you mean more like more like 150 dollars more a month....for a 328i with a sticker of 36.5k you can lease one for 36 months,10k a year, and with 0 down your will be at 420 a month (6% tax included) and thats an easy deal to get....alot of people are getting better than that...the resid on a 328i with 10k a year is 65% and the mf right now is .00160) go to lease guide and use the calculator if you would like to figure it out on your own.

Took the wife to check out the demo car today. Of course, it had another couple inside going for a test drive already.

The wife's first comment was..."That emblem on the grill is HUGE!?"
