OEM rim options for 4matic?

I ordered my 4matic yesterday but really am not feeling the 7 double spoke rims. What are my options? Can I even put AMG rims on there?

QQQ 08-13-2007 01:06 PM

why not?

bostonmarc 08-13-2007 02:24 PM

Well there is no option at the dealership to upgrade to AMG rims or anything else other than the 7 double spoke. I asked my sales person to work on that for me before the car arrives in October

Maybe not, the AMGs are staggered and 4matics are not.

MBTex 08-15-2007 12:23 PM

they may offer other AMG rims for the 4matic, but not the same as what they are now offering for the 300 sport and 350. those rims are staggered and for RWD only

Actually the 4matics come with staggered wheels also (225/245) if you order the sports package...

I've been trying to find out the answer to this question as well, "can 18"+ rims fit on the 4matics?" Could there be an issue with the 4matic running gear not allowing for larger wheel diameters? How about the other 4matic models, can they fit 18"+ rims?

bostonmarc 08-15-2007 04:04 PM

I ordered the sport package but mine is coming with the 7 dual spoke rims...I just dont like those

MBTex 08-15-2007 04:18 PM

you might want to see if you can get the 17 inch AMG rims that come standard on the 350 Sport. They have 6 dual spokes very similar to the 18 inch AMG's 5 dual spokes, yet are a narrower rim.

it might work.

Yeah I ordered my C300 and there is no way to get out of those 7-spoke 17" except to pay big bucks for aftermarket, dealer installed AMG wheels. Factory price $1000, dealer price for the same exact wheels: $3200. We're all biting the bullet because we are impatient. Its obvious that no one likes the stock wheels, I tried blurring my eyes, looking at them from different angles. The bottom line is that the car actually looks better from the front or back when you can't see the wheels themselves. Oh well.

My car is also coming in October but my salesguy told me that realistically, changing the wheels at the factory ain't going to happen.

Yea, I told my dealer to explore some options for me. I am on the October schedule too. I have a feeling when you can build out the 4matic on mbusa.com there will be more options then what we could select at the dealer

Sorry but this is not correct. 4Matics cannot have staggered wheels and the brochure states: C300 Sport: 7.5x17 front/rear.
