Wheels added later
<<I would absolutely get P2, wheels can always be added, but the bi-xenon, foglamps, sunshade and folding seats are very useful options that cannot be added later.>>
Yes, 18" wheels can be added later, all right. At retail, $3290 for the wheels and about $800 for the tires.
The $1000 option price is a bargain.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the back seat still folds down w/o P2, just not split, right? I opted out of P2 and went for the MM and AMG 18's. Sunshades and split fold down seats didnt appeal to me and spending the $$ for just the Bi-X was hard to justify...

exactly my thinking.. and exact same options as well. the multimedia package gives you so much for for virtually the same amount of money.

We got the P2 as much for the fold-down seats as for the lights. Our dealer, one of the largest in Ohio, claims they don't get P2 in very often. When they did a search for us, only one available car had the P2 on it.
I'm pretty sure the seats don't fold down at all if you don't get P2. Unfortunately, we somehow had the impression that P2 also added seat memory. I think we mixed it up with the SAAB 9-3 Aero or the Passat. That's a disappointment, as we use that feature a lot on the A6.

The P2 package was a must on my list.
All those items in the package is extremely difficult and/or expensive to add later on, and it is slightly cheaper than the AMG wheels so the decision was relatively easy.
The bi-xenon headlights is a major factor, but the split folding rear seats is a must (I personally think it should be standard as cars half the price has it standard). I often go up to the mountains to go snowboarding, and I don't like roof racks and like the convenience and ability of folding one seat down and be able to haul 3 or 4 people and their gear inside the car.
The rear sunshade is something I have in my current car which is great, it cuts down on the heat in the summer and glare of headlights at night, even with tinted windows.
