Build your C-Class 4-matic now!

You can now build the 4-Matic C-Class:

http://www.mbusa.com/models/4matic_overview/index.do

Starts at $33,775 for the sport and $35,475 for the Luxury. Not bad.

Why would the sport be $1700 cheaper?

stephensong 09-05-2007 04:08 PM

Oops.

C300 Sport is stick and C300 Luxo is 7G so the $1,700 diff.

That must be $1700 CAN because the US site shows $1440. :p: There may be more than meets the eye.

@ Chi-Benz

That link shows the pricing for the regular models. It states 4-matic as being optional but does not show up under build your own. Misinformation Verboten.:slap:

MBTex 09-05-2007 06:42 PM

Wood trim perhaps?

bostonmarc 09-05-2007 07:13 PM

Looks like we have a few options for rims now. I left a message for my dealer already. But $ 3,200 for AMG rims with no tires? Thats insane

You have to build your own under the 4-Matic option on the models drop down menu, not the sedan menu. Then select build your own and it gives you the option for the sport or luxury 4-matic. Apology accepted. :naughty:

MBUSA updated the website with a new price for sport 4-matic, now states $35,215...I guess wood trim goes for $260.00:D

Makes more sense when automatic has to be included, so basically the 4-Matic options costs $1800...

And if you go there it points you to the same page. MBUSA updating site within 10 minutes invalidates. Apology accepted. :naughty:

I know the answer to my post will be 'some people need 4-matics' but...

Why would you get that car?????????????

For a grand more you can get the C350, which includes the P1 and 7 speed Auto, 50 more HP and several other things. whyyyyyyyy?

exactly what you said... if its your ONLY vehicle and you get moderate+ snowfall, you need something that will make it around. a 4wd or awd vehicle allows you to do that. SIMPLE

liftingismylife 09-06-2007 10:40 AM

Will there be a 350 4-matic?

Not this year for the US. RWD only for the 350.

There any tech articles out about how the 4matic is designed? Stuff such as is it full time, part time, electro-hydraulic center diff, how much it shifts torque each direction?

I can't find much of anything very technical on google, just mag reviews that gloss over details.

You may find attached document useful although its for the C350 and not the 4matic.

I'm not sure if that is correct. I don't think they offer manual trans and 4matic do they? Also if you look at the window sticker of a luxury sedan, they do charge $260 for the "Luxury Sedan."

I just found out today that the C-Class product managers from MBUSA are coming to speak at my school to the marketing club. I might have to give them an earful and tell them we want a C350 4Matic.
