People with 300's won't have 5 star or AMG rims unless they paid for the upgraded rims. If they bought the upgrades they'd probably not be looking to sell them just yet....

Good luck though, there are a few 300 owners out there who are looking for some nicer rims.

Also something to think about.... I don't believe AMG 18" are swappable to 4-Matic cars. Something about too much of a FWD-like offset on the 4-Matics.

Has anybody who is thinking about non-MB wheels considered whether the tire pressure sensors will work with them? Hmmmm?

I have pretty much given up hope and I am accepting the fact that I will have the 7 double spoke rims

Yea. Same. They're ugly, but oh well.

After agonizing for weeks over this issue, I ordered a set of the 18" AMGs today. There are plenty of them in stock in the US now. And that's not the end of it since I also have to order a set of 18" tires to go on them.

The car is due in to Port Heuneme CA on 10/8 and will very likely be in my garage around 10/15. The dealer will install the wheels before delivery which includes transferring the pressure sensors to the 18s.

I will trade you

Hi,

I will trade your double 7 spoke with my 5 spoke, I will take delivery in early October, can you wait?

:)

Rick Hunter 09-27-2007 02:38 AM

You should look for a nice aftermarket set. I've had my eye on a set that looks like Mercs own 18" "Pulaha" 5-twin spoke wheel (sold in other parts of the world - See Pg79 & P84). You can then put some winter tires on the 7 spoke OEMs.

What are you getting? C300 or C350?

Just took delivery of a C300 and noticed the wheels are different from the US model, I am thinking of swapping them with some US C300 owner, just to be different!

Why would you want to trade? The 5 spoke wheels look way better and will be much easier to keep clean.

Your rims are much nicer then the 300 rims in the US...keep them.

Unless you are looking to get some of the AMG rims...in that case go for it.
