question for those with a new 2008 c class

how does the mbtex feels compare to leather? does it feel cheap, hard or uncomfortable?

I know that you don't get the leather smell with MBtex, I went with the leather and they said the first date they're making Cs with leather is October 23

So I'm going to be waiting but I'm not paying 50k (TTL included) for a car with plastic seats. So its what you want.

Somebody is full of it. My C300 lux was built 8/23 with leather. Or do they mean Sport models?

I wouldn't pay 50k for a C-Class :)

MB-Tex feels like sitting in a BMW 3-Series. :p: One advantage of MB-Tex is that will wear better overtime compared to leather.
Since there are no W204 with leather seats yet in Vancouver, I can't make a comparison. It all depends what kind of leather Mercedes will be using. If is it Napa leather...then it should be great! :y

Search this forum...there are some previous posts discussing MB-Tex vs. Leather. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

For most people the decision comes down to personal preference.

I got the MB Tex instead of leather. I like the grain and texure. Note, however, that it is less pliable than the leater - not as soft. I like it, but this is personal preference. Also, no nice leather smaell.

I think it feels hard and uncomfortable. At least it was in the 03 I have.

My original order was with leather seats, but due to delay in shipment of C350 with leather seats, I purchased with MB-Tex. Now that I have it, I am fully satisfied with it and don't miss the leather seat. Using the money I saved on leaher seats to buy winter tire/wheel set and couldn't be more pleased.

I was thinking of getting the leather, but after seeing how the leather looked after it was worn in, I decided to stick with the MB-Tex (which also saved me money). The leather is softer, but it MB-Tex is comfortable and looks good. I don't like how the MB leather loosens as it wears in. I prefer a tighter fit with no folds or creases.

That's exactly what I'm thinking!
Plan to buy a set of wheels and snow tires for winter, any good idea?

MBtex looks and feels cheaper than leather. Seats are also perforated. Leather in C is NOT nappa however and isn't as supple as you would expect. It should wear better than nappa though which starts creasing almost instantly. Realistically, buying a benz with plastic seats kind of defies the purpose. It's a LUXURY sedan, albeit an entry level. "Plastic" and "Luxury" don't go together.
