just read this article on Toronto Star's website:
http://www.thestar.com/Business/article/260543
i guess this is the first offical reaction from an auto manufacturer in the wake of the current exchange rate. so my question is: will MB follow up?
with the no charge sport package, the base MSRP is $44700 for C300. really likt it. went to MB Midtown last saturday. the sales was friendly, but firmly no discount at all. will get the car by the end of this year or even January 2008 if order right now. the sales give his card to me finaly and don't even bother asking my contact info. this sucks. However will keep an eye on the price.

US Pricing
Hi,
I read the article as well, I am hoping MB will cut the price before mine arrives, but I don't think they will soon, MB makes it very hard to import in Canada, Canadian Tire stores are not allowed to certify MB anymore, has to be MB dealers, just prepare to be gouged!

totally agree. importing an MB from US to Canada is undoable. the modification at MB dealers and 6.1% duty will kill the deal for sure, esp. for the C300. i just hope here in Canada in spring 2008 we can get a better price or some incentives; the sales also told me they will also get a bigger stock in January, which means a shorter waiting time after you put your order.
furthermore, W204 is brand new. maybe half a year waiting is not a bad idea given people can find some bugs on the new cars.

It would be really nice to see MB follow the footsteps of Porsche.
