What tires came with your new C?
 

What brand and specific tire did you get with your new C? Also, please add where you live. It will help everyone to see what the pattern is if they aren't all the same. Thanks in advance everyone!

I don't have it yet, but my 350 will have the AMG 17" Alloy wheels that come standard on the 350 in the US...which is where I live.

Mercedes has contracts with Continental and Michelin Tires. For as long as I can remember I've never seen anything else on C Classes. Awhile back they had Dunlop on the ML's but have since changed those to Conti's and Michelins.

OK, I'm an idiot...read the OP and assumed rims rather than tires....

Will have to let you know on that one when the car arrives...

I was just curious because I have heard a lot of complaints about the all-weather Continentals. I was hoping for the Michelins and was curious what kind, so I can judge how long they will last. My last car came with Michelins and the originals were very bad. They needed replacement after only 25,000 miles. I replaced them with Michelins that had much more grip, but they didn't last very long either. I now have some very nice Yokohama's. They seem to have the grip of the second set of Michelins and are lasting longer.

Before you flame me:
I know that Michelin make some very good tires and that there is some degree of tradeoff between grip and wear.

I have heard that the grip in the Continentals that were tested by Road and Track on the new C was very poor.

Anybody else have any other insite into tires for the new C?

C350 17" 6-spoke AMG Michelin Pilot, Southern California.

C300 18" AMG, Contisport 3. Good grip wet or dry, fairly comfortable, but loud on the roads around here.

I do know they use a lower grade tire than what you could purchase yourself aftermarket. I only got about 15k out of the Michelins on my 06 ML, I asked the service guy about it and he said yeah thats about average depending on your driving conditions and miles ect and confirmed that they use a lower grade tire. Not sure why Mercedes would do this, they might be trying to save themselves some money as they don't warrant tires and could sell you a new set after the oem tires wear out fast. On another note, I had a 02 C Class with Michelin Energy tires and they lasted the entire time I owned the car (about 37k).

Mine came with Contiprocontact while my cousin's came with Michelin Pilot Exalto.

Do you happen to know how much the 17" amg like yours weighs? They claim its light alloy but question is how light is it? approx 25lbs would u say?

This is a very good question because my Fiance is getting her C300 sport 4Matic sometime in December. I was wondering what kind of all season tires it would come with since she will be driving it in the snow. I want to assume the Michelins would be better in the snow....is this a valid assumption?:nix:

I'm in NC and I was wondering if I would get all season or not. We hardly ever get snow, but we do get ice on occasion.

I purchased my C350 in VA and it came with Conti all-weathers. I am now back home in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle and Portland) and the 2008 Cs all have Mich.

There are two OEM suppliers for the all-weather tires - Conti and Michelin. Our car has the Contis, built in June, delivered in Portland OR, and from the first shipment of W204s to the West Coast.

My experience is that the factory will produce "runs" of cars with the same tires - so you'll see lots that have Michelins in one shipment, Contis in the next. It means nothing, and it's purely the luck of the draw what will be on the ground at the dealership at any given moment.

I'm a Michelin fan, but not of the particular tire they're using for this application. The Contis are nothing special, though they seem to wear well [we have 5200 miles on our car]. The new Michelin Primacy MXV4 [not to be confused with previous MXV4s, of which there are at least 5 different models] is in fact something special [quieter, stickier, longer-lasting - I tried them briefly on another car of ours before selling it], but it is not being used on any OEM applications at the moment - so far, offered only as a replacement tire, not as OE. It would be my first choice for this car if I needed a tire replacement. See the TireRack's comparison test to get an idea of how much better this one is than previous versions.

I've got the Michelins on my 350...built late Sept., arrived in San Antonio this week.
