Who uses their manual mode ?

I seriously use the manual mode about 50% of my combined driving time behind the wheel of our C 300, my wife never uses it according to her. I personnally find I have more control of the car using it. My other question would be... 1) Leave your foot on the gas when shifting the car manually? 2) Let off throttle entirely or partially between gears like a conventional manual gear box? 3) Blip the throttle between down shifting? 4) Just down shift it?

Hey CarGuru -- great poll. I use the manu-matic mode most of the time. My C will be the third car to have it (plus my wife's two) so have gotten accustomed to being in control of the gearbox. I particularly find it useful on highway/freeway on-ramps where I can hold a gear, and also in stop-and-go traffic to reduce gear-hunting.

With regards to your second question, I lift off the throttle before shifting. Find that it allows the vehicle to shift smoother... not sure if that will be the case for the W204. Have to read the manual for recommendations.

Why have it if you are not going to use it? Its a blast.
