Precisely what I am doing, or trying to do. Yes, the manual shows a fuse panel at the left end of the dash. When I removed the cover panel, with some difficulty, it isn't there. The W203 has one there but doesn't have one under the hood, as I recall. The other mystery is that the little folded paper that shows what fuse serves which component was in the dash fuse box, so where is it now? Not in the front or rear panels, far as I can see. I then thought that the 12V plug in the glovebox was switched 12V, so with great difficulty I removed the underdash panel and the side panel to get to the wires (not too much blood) and found that it's not switched voltage after all. I have already removed the A-pillar cover so as to fish the V-1 cable down, so there it sits, waiting. The other possibility is the cigarette lighter wiring which just might come forward to the big loom that crosses above the footspace. I saw it when I had the underpanel off but without a wiring diagram, there is no way to identify the correct wire to tap into. Nothing is easy. |
There are more fuses in the trunk, right hand side, behind the access panel .... I think. I'll have to go down to the garage to check when I leave for my morning jog. And I'll have another look at my manual....
