For what ever it is worth, my dealer here in MN did tell me that I can bring the car in between 1000-3000 mi for a free inspection and complimentary oil change. After that, I only need to change the oil once a year or 10-13K miles. That's good because at $100+ an oil change....

Regarding oil changes (sorry for the thread hijack), does anyone have any info on:

1) Engine Oil Capacity for our M272 engines?
2) The Part# for the OEM fleece Oil Filter?

While the recommended interval (13k) is probably fine for all intents and purposes, I like to do mine at 7.5k intervals. It may or may not do any good to the engine, but I figure it won't do any bad.

The engine oil capacity is in the manual. Mine's in the car, which is downstairs in the condo garage 3 floors away, but it is on the order of 8+ quarts - over 2 gallons.

Just checked it - 8 liters, approx 8.5 qts...

Any dealer's parts dept can pony up the PN for the filter.

I have had 30 new cars in my life, and I worked for an oil company for many years..
You are wasting natural resources and your money if you change synthetic oil at 5000 miles..you can pull the heads and look yourself; you won't see any sludge. but, to each his own..
I am going to wait at least 10k miles, or one year.
If you live in cold climate, I would change it before winter comes each year
