What did U trade in (or plan to) / What were U driving, before U got the W204?

I'm just curious. I was reading through the threads and noticed a few like me who had a G35 coupe prior to getting a W204.

Post in.

I traded in my C55, with a credit towards a C63 next Spring. The C350 will be my daily driver.

I'm still waiting for my C300 Sport (January delivery) but I was driving a BMW E60 525 which I sold last week. No way I'd do a trade with a car that was ordered. That's like walking into my own rape scene.

But until January, I'll be switching between my Audi A4 and my Toyota Sienna van. lol

ryanrohaley 11-18-2007 11:12 AM

I was one of "those guys" and was driving (and still own) a G35 coupe. I wasn't too enthused about the trade-in or Carmax offers, so I'm trying to sell it on my own. If it doesnt go in the next week, it's going back to Carmax.

This will be our first sport sedan. We're replacing our '01 Toyota Avalon with the C350 which will be here in Jan sometime. We also have a '04 Mitsubishi Endeavor (AWD) for when there is too much snow for the RWD of the C350.

Returned a 2004 Acura TL after a 4-year lease. Also have a Subaru Legacy in the fleet (my wife's car).

I've been waiting for the W204 to be released since I saw the first spy shots. I sold my '02 C240 prior to getting the W204.:)

ford focus zx5

yeah, ford focus - the 5 door hatch. Laugh all you want, but it was free. I have a house built in the 1920's, so it fits about a Model T well, everything else not so much. Got a job 5 years ago representing Unions, boss gave me a nice car allowance, but said I had to drive American. No, not jap built in america, but american nameplate. Ford focus is only car that fit. Is a ncie car too (for what it is) with leather, sunroof, side airbags, hatchback, etc., and handled great. its the same chasis that won numerous rallies and bested the wrx's and evo's in the WRC. Of course, in america you couldn't get the awd or turbo, so I made modifications of my own when I got tired of having my clock cleaned on the Parkway. Intake, new exhaust header, hi-flo cat, cat back exhaust, chip, underdrive pulley, etc. Since the car is lightweight (~2650 pounds) and a stick shift, it was actually pretty damn quick with these mods (I truly think the c300sport 4matic is slower).

Anyway, I've been waiting to change jobs so I could get a grown-up car. Finally left the union side for management side and can drive what I want. Problem is, I had s6 money, but barely c-class space. So, looking for a nice awd hatch first (which no one makes) or sedan second that might fit came down to the 335ix, g35x, a4, c-classc300sport4matic, subie spec.B and volvo s40. the g35x turned out to be too long by about 2 inches, the 335ix too wide by about 2 incehs, the a4 fit but the merc looked better, teh volvo drove, well, liek a volvo, which is to say a refrigerator with sterring wheel, and the subie was the best performer all around which fit (second only to the bmw which didn't fit) and was balls fast, but just isn't the pseudo-lux car I was looking for now (great car, but only a upper middle class car, not a lower upper class car). So, that's how I got into my c-class. Had it been against the older c-class, or with the new 2009 a4, probably woulda gotten the a4.

still happy with my choice, even if the c-class is 10% less car than its competition for 10% more price, metaphorically speaking.

I sold my 2006 Acura TSX w/Navi. I loved the car, but I love my W204 way more! Here is my TSX...

I traded in this 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel:mercy: I miss it to death but after we sold our Calabria it was an expensive driveway ornament. My wife was driving it daily to work & back 12 miles each way, so the W204 is a huge difference and better for her.

2000 ES300 and I don't miss it. lol However, I have to say it was by far a reliable car. Had 113k miles on it and still ran smoothly. Before that a 1997 Acura Integra to which I did a 98-00 front end conversion, GSR rims, intake... eHh.

2004 Acura TSX w/ Nav as well but dealer gave trade in value $16000, so 100% selling on my own before taking delivery in late December or Mid-January

TSX is a great sport car BTW, never thought I'd sell it with only 24000 miles on it but, when you see the new C, it's history

+1 .... Dealer tried to screw me on the trade and I only had 11K miles! So,I found an outside buyer and the dealer did a "wash thru" for me giving me what I asked for the car from the other party plus the tax savings!:naughty:

i was a former e46 m3 vert owner as well...not to hijack the thread, but I had a very similar vert..

Mine was an 04 vert with the hamann lip as well, but I had LE37T instead of the SSR. I bet you were running on eibachs from the look of it in the picture.

Ouch. I'd miss that... or should I say, I'd tap that. lol

BlackMercBenz 11-19-2007 02:18 AM

I noticed there's a lot of you guys who had an Acura b4 the W204.

To the guys who had the S2000 and especially the M3 before... Wow, bold move, but way to go! :y

ryanrohaley.. I bet you'd miss the sound of the G when you let it go.. Personally, I do. :yumyum:

What I'm really impressed about (this being my first Benz), are the previous MB owners who still opted for another Benz! :D

bump... :bump:
