"Eyelid" bulbs

I've been trying to open up and see what kind of bulbs the "eyelid" uses. However, I can't seem to pull out the bulbs. Has anyone tried to do this yet? And does anyone know what kind of bulbs it uses? Please share it with us. Thanks

Was thinking of doing something about them too....

They don't match the xenon's.

Peabers - great pictures you've taken of your C. Any chance you could snap a few of the tail lights at night with and without braking? Thanks!

Yes! I agree ... very nice pic :naughty:. please post a picture showing the tail lights :y

I really want to replace them with LED bulbs to match the bi-xenons. I've done it to my last car (they were 5W5 wedge bulbs) and it looked great and matched perfectly with the bi-xenons. I'll try to get in the headlight housing this weekend to do some investigating...

Dont forget to post pictures once you change your bulb. ;)

Is this any help? (Click on "changing the front bulbs" then look in the "Changing the bulbs in the side lamps and parking lamps" section)

Did you just install the LED bulbs or do you have to use transistors so that there is no error message?

Thanks for the link... but Americans will be thumping chests once they see all the features that are not available in their market.

Yeah... but as they pay almost zip for the car anyway, they're not entitled to get any of the good options that we get in Europe :naughty:

Not sure what bulbs are in the US-spec cars, but according to the page from the online owners' manual, European-spec cars use W 5 W BV bulbs. I don't know, but I suspect the "BV" bit means "Blue Vision" which are the whitest type of the ordinary filament bulbs. I stand to be corrected, though.

For Chi-Benz, who wanted to see the rear lamps:

These are the LEDs, which come standard in Canada. Only available with the Bi-xenon headlamps in the US, AFAIK.

Wow, the rear plate lights spread out pretty cleanly on the W204.

But they're so yellow... yuck.
I want to get those blue-white lights that are on the Lexus IS.

Check out Hoen and see if they have rear plate bulbs for the W204.
