Does the Mute button pause a CD /Ipod song?

The mute button is a useful function and unmuting gradually brings the volume back to the orgiinal level, very nice
I was wondering if it pauses a CD /song from an Ipod while mute is on.

Thanks

For CDs, yes it pauses the CD-A and MP3's, and returns you to the same position and volume level.

Funny thing though... If I turn off the car with the system on, the next time I start up the car, the volume goes to some default level that is higher than I leave it.

Hmm, on my car the mute/pause continues even when I turn the car off and on.

No, that's correct... my car does that too -- pauses the CD-A or MP3 and resumes when I turn on the car/system again.

Just that the volume level resets to a higher level (i.e., 5/10) when I turn on the car the next time. Whereas I always leave it around 3/10 when I turn it off.

Is that with the iPod Integration Kit? Or just plugging the iPod into the AUX jack in the glove?

I thought so... but have learned never to assume. There are some people out there who think the AUX does everything that the integration kit does. :rolf:

So COMAND is not smart enough to pause the iPod? Weird.... Can you manually pause it from the steering wheel controls then?

well you don't need command to have the iPod kit. There's no way to pause the iPod from the steering wheel controls. What I do is I switch to the radio or CD and then hit mute, then the iPod is "paused"
