Consistently Cruise highway at 30.3-30.5 MPG in my 2008 C350 !

Now that breakin period is over for me... I wanted to experiment and find out the true MPG my vehicle could get..

Well, after putting in cruise control at 70 MPH for about 10-15 mins, I always get up to slightly over 30 MPG if the elevation is near flat...

not to bad if you ask me... i will post pics for proof I took when I am back home in a few days...

who else can hang with my max MPG numbers???

who ever said i had a lemon based on my minor issues can suck on that :zoom:

How about posting the mileage for a full tank.

+1 on that, no lemon's going to get that MPG on a full tank! :rolf:

Last Saturday, Thanksgivings weekend, I drove from Seattle to Portland (round trip) with cruise on at 60 mph and at 70 mph. I also had city driving for a while. the computer had 28.5 with an avg mph of 58.3. This is very good for a 3.5 V6. Total miles 452.

MBTex 11-28-2007 10:08 AM

I also have been getting just over 30 mpg on highway driving (full tank #).

e1000 11-28-2007 11:21 AM

I've also gotten over 30MPG cruising over 400miles of driving. Key is flat terrain, little wind, and cruise control.

sorry for being a moran, but how do you view that MPG monitor????

It obviously would keep the same rate if the terrain stays flat, plus I have indeed used this same cruise control speed to achieve 30+ MPG on a road trip from Los angeles to San Francisco...

If I do not have any stop and go and keep the cruise at 70 MPH, then I ALWAYS get 30-31 MPG

Go to the "Trip" menu on your instrument panel display and toggle between the displays by pressing the up and down arrows on the steering wheel. It will have a few displays with MPG shown, to test the average MPG over a tank of gas just fill the car up, then reset the values in the "Since Reset" display and drive till you need to fill up again. Then check the display to see what the average mileage was.

I took a 1700 miles trip and found that I could get over 30mpg when I left the cruse control at around 73mpg. When I eased it up to 80, it dropped to something like 28mpg. This is without the a/c on. (didn't need it).

I started the trip with about 1800 miles on the car.

One thing I noticed is during the first 1,000 miles, gas milage showed the most improvement. I think the first tank only got 17 highway mpg which got my attention.

Anyone wish to speculate why this car gets such terrible miles when brand new while many other cars don't?

PoaMike 11-29-2007 04:57 PM

Lowest anyone? I got 7.9mpg... haha parked with a date watching a horror movie. Bad idea? :) wasted quarter of a tank, could have just taken her to the movies lol.

wase4711 11-30-2007 01:39 PM

we've got 600 miles on ours, and I am only getting around 19mpg...we are using E 85 though, and I was told that knocks the mileage down about 20%..I would expect a big improvement, once we get about 3000 miles or so on it..

omgitselaine 11-30-2007 03:31 PM

best i got was 25 mpg max going about 60 mph on a 75 mile trip ?? in a mixture of city/highay driving id be lucky if i get 20mpg ...guess i have a heavy foot ...even in 4" heels ;) but then again i didnt buy the car for its gas mileage if i was looking for that i wouldve gotten a prius ???

Be careful not to compare 4-matic models with 2 wheel drive.

1. I am suprised that you would even venture to call the Prius a car. I get more excitement watching my laundry.

2. I hope you are going to use the car to do more than 60mph / 97km/hr. I think there are some autobahnen where you would not be allowed to leave the right lane at that speed ;)

2) ohh truust me i go much faster than just 60mph :) There was some traffic and it was just a 2 lane highway ( Garden State Parkway fyi ) so it wasnt easy to go that much faster or i wouldve ;)
