http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/6716/dscn0635qp3.jpg Not sure if there are cup holders under the cover, looks like they would be too small. German cars are known for not having cup holders as they feel no need for them. Just put the hot coffee between your legs when you hit 100mph on the Autobahn. *pictures from other users on the pictures thread. |
...That is strange. Nice find.

Hey in chilled beanz first photo what is with that interior? or is it just the quality of the photo? It looks almost like black marble?
|
Thanks for the better picks.... any idea on were to source one i just feel the two big cupholders make the console look cheap.
|
IMO I think the 'shudder' thing looks kinda cheap. Maybe its just depends on the interior.
|
same as the eclass
i think that rolling, slat-wood cover is the same as in the current e-class. I wouldn't say cheap, but at first it does have that 1980's roll-front/roll-top rack stereo cabinet feel to it!

Cups/console

What's the significance of the big "B" on the shift knob. Brabus, maybe? BTW, I spotted the seat memory buttons on the door. Try to make us US buyers feel bad? It worked. And, the rolltop wood cover over the cupholder was W203 equipment. My C320 had that and it was a whole lot nicer that the W204 arrangement. |
As for the pictures, they aren't mine, I sourced them off the photos thread. The first photo is a bad photo, the other photos were the same way, they were a bit skewed and grainy.
The B is indeed for Brabus, I would imagine if you wanted one they would sell you one for like..I don't know...1 million dollars. The other user is correct about the roll cover. My 02 w203 C had a wood roll cover, still cheap looking, but at least it was some nice fake wood. |

Yeah I was refering to the 2002 C class, it had a faux wood roll cover. The new 2008 C's cover does appear to be of a rubber/plastic touch variety. I like the cover better than the cup holders myself.

The previous generation's cover WAS NOT faux wood. It was real wood. All MB's use real wood with the exception of the first 2 years of production of the W163 M class where the door pull and trim around the door handle was fake wood.

I too been looking this consule look way better than the cup holder it has stlye and class.
|
I think that the cover looks better, but I would never use it. I always have a bottle of water with me and usually through my phone in the cupholder, so it would always be open anyway. Plus, I'd rather have exposed cupholders than one covered unit that is always open anyway.
