Need help to find a C quickily after accident

My wife with two young children got into a pretty bad car accident two days ago and luckily they all walked off from it with only few bruises.

It looks like the car is total and my wife is now thinking to get a C Sport. Does anyone have any lead or know how to look up the inventory within 500 miles of North Carolina that may have a car like this either in stock or coming in in less than 30 days:

Ext: Black or Silver(s) or Grey
Int: Black or Grey/Black
Option: Automatic (P1 or Ipod or CD changer are all fine but not necessary)
MSRP: below $35K

TIA for all feedback!!

here are some pictures of the car after the accident.

It doesn't look like a total to me.

Go to MBUSA.com and do a dealer search. Start with the dealer closest to you and e-mail or call and inquire about their inventory. They are all in need of making a sell. By looking on this forum you might think that this is a seller's market but look at the business picture in all sections of the economy, MB dealers are suffering just like everyone else so buy from a dealer who is willing to workl with you.

dealer websites

Try dealer websites for inventory, but be advised (in my experience) most are not fully accurate in terms of updating inventory often.

Anyway, I assume the DC/Balimore area must have in stock as Merc's are off loaded in Port Balimore. If they don't, and you're dead serious, come to Jersey. All the dealers I shopped in mid-north Jersey had several 4matics in stock (try ray catena mb (mid nj), prestige (northern nj), princeton mb (mid nj), and others). And northern NC to Mid/North Jersey is just about 500 miles! But, really, you shouldn't have to go that far. Hunt in Northern VA to Balimore metro, bet you'll find plenty.

Also, just as an aside, don't overlook the inifinit g35x. It was a very close 2nd place for me and in retrospect it maybe should've gotten the nod. Still dunno, that close (the merc looks, handled better, the g35x had much more power, real leather, and more/better features)

I agree, I doubt that's totalled. However, there are plenty of C300s in the Phila area. Do a new car search on Cars.com.

Thanks for all the feedback and I will definitely look into it.

Regarding the Audi, the pictures are not showing very well but the engine and the frame got push and now shifts to lean toward the passenger side. Add to the injury, the tow truck driver told me he heard a loud slap under the car while he was towing it and my guess may be the differential is shot too.

I am holding my breath and hope the car is total. But do glad that my family can totally walk away from the accident with very minor bruises. Sometimes, it worths to buy an european car even it is not as reliable and more expensive. It is just a piece of mind that it counts sometimes.

I'd be willing to bet that's totalled. As soon as their's major unibody frame damage insurance companies don't want the liability.

My buddies Audi was totalled out after just a small tree falling on it. All that did was break the windshield and put a medium sized dent in the roof. But the insurance company didn't want the liability of water damage and totalled it. The car was 2mo old.

First let me say that I'm glad everyone is all right after looking at those pictures. The way a car looks after a wreck doesn't always tell the full story (anyone remember the Dale Earnhardt crash)? It didn't look bad, the car didn't look bad, but you all know how that ended.

I would say to save yourself some serious running around to just stop by your MB dealer of choice and have him pull up the computer. His computer will tell you his inventory, whats at dealerships around you, whats at port, whats on boats being shipped in, whats at port waiting to be shipped, and whats currently in production. If there is something you like, the dealership can trade with other dealers to get you the car you want.

Be advised that for about a thousand bucks more, and a little creative haggling, you could be in a 4matic C. 4matic M.S.R.P. for a car equipped like you want is around 37k, and you can easily get it down to the low 36's. I don't see you getting much more than say 500 off a 35k car, so if you need all wheel drive (those with two wheel drive and any snow will tell you that you do!) then you might want to look into the 4matic.

Just a quick update. The car is TOTALED.

I had done exactly chilledbenz said and went to the dealership and ask to look for the computer. We are able to find one "at sea" that is exactly what my wife wants. Btw, if it has a date of 12/23/07 "at sea" in the system, do you know when I will get the car. The dealer told me it will be after Christmas but before New Year.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Thanks for all the feedback.

It took mine two weeks to be shipped and pass through customs. If you lived further away from the port I would say you might have to wait a bit longer because of bad weather delays in shipping, but since your right in the area of the Baltimore port, shouldn't have any delays.

It is true for most European cars except S class. I read a horrible story when S class got a direct hit of Ford fFocus and two persons in S class died, but driver of Focus got just few bruises.

What? S class vs. Ford Focus and the Focus won. I'd have to see it to believe it.
