Lorinser tunes C class ... interesting item buried in the BS

http://jalopnik.com/cars/tuners/lori...chy-333087.php

Normal yadda yadda from an overpriced self important tuner that barely translates to english. But the interesting take away is the mention of the 350 making over 300hp without FI

" <refering to the c200 kompressor> ... This added power is achieved by installing a modified engine control unit along with altered belt pulleys, drive belts and a different air filter.

The C 350 with its six-cylinder V engine can also be optimised. This model also features modified camshafts. The performance is increased from 200 kW/272 hp to 224 kW/305 hp, while the torque jumps from 350 Nm to astounding 380 Nm."

What's not clear is if it's just cams or if it's cams in addition to the pulley and air filter ... but that's still not a lot of work.

Evidence that just around the corner the 3.5 V6 will be making better #'s from the factory? :nix:

obviously, i want to know if this will lower gas milage under normal driving conditions, ie going the speed limit and smooth gradual accelerations...

Uh ... duh? ... of course it will; by how much? :nix: Anybody's guess.

Only 2 ways to make more power.

More air allowing the engine to burn more fuel, and more revs which burns more fuel over time.

you're right, but add hp in your c350 WILL decrease your mpg numbers. in the end, you want more power, just pay a lil more at the pump. I'm sure you'll be too happy to remember gas prices.

Not really ... it's called Forced Induction.
