Head Lamp washer can be activated everytime you use Windshield washer

For a while, I thought the Headlamp washer that comes with P2 package for US model actives every 10th use of your windshield washer, But I just found out that that was not 100% true.

What I found out from the past few day of the snow storm we had was that if there is long break between the uses of the windshield washer, the Headlamp washer actives immediately at the first time. However, if you try to activate the headlamp washer right away after being activated, you have to push the windshield washer button 10 time to make it reactivated.

Another word, if you use your windshield washer once in a while, the headlamp washer actives every time you push the windshield washer button unless there is some kind of dirt sensor that decides the activation of the headlamp washer when windshield washer is used . I doubt that:)

I don't know exactly how long do I have to wait in between though.

I think you got it right, they activate immediately the first time you squirt & wipe of the day.

I have the opposite problem, in S. Ca. i never want my headlight washers to come on.... any way i can deactivate them? They make my car very dirty when i am only trying to spray the windshield.

I've been wondering the exact same thing. Anyone have any insight on this?

In my past MBs with headlight washers, there were two pumps, one with higher pressure for the lights. Looking at the washer tank in my 204, no pumps are visible. Since they are probably near the bottom of the tank, if you can access them from below, you could just unplug the pump involved.
