Night Photos

Some C350 night photos I've taken recently (a while back I've posted some similar ones, but they're no longer available).

Interior shots, black, plastic interior (not the leather), basic audio (no MM)

And some "artsy" photos. Car colour is "Palladium Silver", but because the white balance is way off, it doesn't look much the the "real" colour (thus some were converted to black and white).

those are some nice shots! I think first time someone posted a lid up cabin that clearly. GJ!

so clean.. what kind of wax?

Rick Hunter 12-31-2007 01:10 AM

Nice pics, mate.:y

Beautiful. Great compositions too! Though turning the wheels slightly would've shown off the wheels more, I suppose. I have the same interior coming (Black MBTex, no navi).

This forum is dangerous... pictures like these give me urges to run down to the dealership and buy the first '08 C-class I see, instead of waiting for mine. That would be bad.

Actually, having two might not be too bad -- my lady wants one. :nix:

What does the Z stand for in "C350WZ"? Great pics.

Hey - there's a UFO in that last black & white photo! :) Just kidding...

Assuming you have a digital camera, what camera do you have?

Thank you

Thank you all for the comments regarding the photos.

@angeloxnet - I don't know what kind of "wax" was used, if any - the card had its free "hand-wash" at the delaership. Because the dealership isn't very near me, I take it there for the free car wash only if I happen to be in the area. The service people there are pretty meticulous for a free car wash.

@narky - it's good that you've got the discipline to wait for the car you've configured. I didn't and now I would have done things differently. When the car comes to you, it'll be more of what you wanted.

@stephensong - Hmm, I should know with certainty since it's in my signarture, but i don't! Duh. I think, however, that it's the designation for the "sport" configuration - I've seen the "Z" referenced in a few places in the documentation of the car received from the dealership.

A few things about the car after some 3500 miles: Its novelty factor, for myself, has not yet warn off. I still like getting in it and driving it just as much as the first weeks. I think the compliant handling is a superb compromise for daily driving. Combined gas mileage after 3500 miles is 23MPG - not bad considering a great deal of it is in stop and go (best I've seen during constant 75-80MPH on flat surface was 28.XMPG; worst average I'e seen was 14 - a function of time tough as I was idle in traffic). Power of the 3500cc is plenty for me - in fact, it is a complete waste when stuck in traffic, which sadly, is most of my commute. The car does thing so well and effortlessly that is sometimes dull and boring (for me); to make up for it, I pushed the car a little bit (7th gear @ 3700 RPM). It became more evident to me that this would shine on the autobahn - again, a waste in the local traffic (for me, at least).

Anyways, these are my opinions. I am enjoyng the car. No major problems thus far. Worth noting are
1.) The rotating dial/joystick that is used to control the audio does not work immediately after the car is started in the morning. This used to be intermittent, now the failure is consistent following every morning start. It continues to not work the entire morning commute. After the car is started several hours later, it always functions correctly. I'm not complaining much though - I'll mention it when service is due.
2.) Power steering noise/slight vibration when maneuvering in tight quarters while wheels are not in motion or very slow. It is seldom, but it does get my attention. I'll see if it becomes a problem, butfor now I'm not coplaining.

Sorry I missed your question - it is an older Olympus E-500 digital SLR with Zuiko Digital 11-22mm lens. I'm certainly not an expert, not even an amateur really, but as far as I know Olympus digital SLRs - at least the one i have - are not the best for long exposure or instances where there's high dynamic range. It is a very good camera for other instances, just not the best for shooting dark car interiors, I think.

In any case, the camera can still do a lot more than I've done with it...

Regarding the UFO - the Martians were tired of waiting for their W204 order, so they came to take mine. Rest assured they left empty handed :D

thank you uga uga! I dragged my wife over to show her what you said - darn, she thinks otherwise. Glad you enjoyed the photos - there are tons of people that can do a million times better than what I've tried to do, it really doesn't take much, just some pacience and a tripod.

QWERTY1024 -- Excellent pictures, thanks for sharing them. And I am absolutely jealous that there is not a drop of snow anywhere near the car. :P

Thanks for the reply re: your photography equipment. I figured you had something decent to get those shots at night! And watch out for those Martians... they probably still have their eyes on your car. :)

Anyone have a source for my photos of new C-Classes taken by owners? I get so tired of looking at MBUSA.com awaiting my car.

Shake 01-03-2008 12:31 AM

Wow, nice interior and great job with the photography. :y

Great capture of light .
And the car looks shiiiiiiiiiineeeeee and beutiful.
That kind of light (that bright)under the cabin would be great to be there by Mercedes, and have an option of on and off like roof lights.
Again great pics man.
Thanks for sharing
