Dirty W204 needs Cleaning!
It's been almost one month since picking up the C300 4Matic - it's getting dirty and I want to wash it badly and there is a new car wash opened near my office, they have brand new machine which CLAIMS it won't hurt the paints?
Have any of you guys used machine car wash on your W204 yet? this is driving me nuts... its too cold to wash it myself.

Man sometimes it's a loss cause, although I love the car to be clean I can slave away for two hours detailing it to death. If we go for a 20 min run in the car the damn wheels are dirty and covered with brake dust again. Not to mention we have the 18" and they are a PITA to clean. I feel your pain.

Should be fine, especially with white. Just do, or have done, a clay and machine polish once a year to get out the little swirls from the car wash. But then again, I'm not as **** as I used to be ... although I still wouldn't take a black car through.
Just make sure there's no sand grit before going through the car wash. That will tear your car up.
Let my wife take the Q through the car wash after we'd gone over the pass and it put some nasty swirls the back panels.

I don't believe in any kind of auto car washes. But I do have a choice.
I'll wash my car even if it's 5 degrees out...inside heh.
The garage is big enough for 10 wheelers, has drains, heated, pressure washer setup etc. I steam my car off almost every night in the winter.
I wont hand wash it every night, but try to once a week. It's always clean.
I try not to take it out in the bad weather, but once in a while I do.
It kills me when it's dirty!

I just washed my car yesterday, and it was 1 degress celsius outside.
When i got everything ready, car wash soap, bucket of hot water, I turn the knob of the hose and no water came out. Turns out to be that the water inside the pipes were frozen.
But I couldn't stand how dirty the dirt sticks on white cars, so off I went to wash the car in the cold.
To no suprise, on the drive back home the car was dirty again, thans to the schitty weather in Vancouver.

Suck it up and grab a wash mitt and a bucket. At least that's what I've been doing. I would never bring my car to a car washing place. I watched my car last week in the freezing cold. Just wear heavy duty rubber gloves and deal with the cold. As a matter of fact I vacuumed the inside 2 days ago and today I'm washing it. Then again, that's just me. I'm a tough cookie. lol

3 schools of thought:
1. Your car should be cleaned daily with distilled water and q-tips.
2. Get over it and hit the auto wash.
3. It gets washed when it rains.
I'm a no. 2, and the wife is a no. 3.

BTW, I found a hand wash place on Utopia/Northern Blvd and it's only $10 for outside, $15 with inside, $30 with waxing.
and they did a pretty good job, now I am happy!! my C is now in showroom condition again!

i would never put my car though a standard car wash unless it was a water jet only car wash. i used to drive to a different city just to get it done.

Just be careful the Car Wash you use doesn't have the type of tracks that will scrape the outer sides of those low profile 18" rims. Usually the older Car Washes have those tracks.

Its like metal tubing? I scratched one of my CLK55 rims on that stuff. It was a touchless car wash. Needless to say I have never been back since. Luckily its a very small scuff mark, but from now on I only hand wash the car.

I use Meguiars Quick Detailer and Ultimate Quick Detailer every few days on the entire car with a couple microfiber towels, and I have to wash a lot less often.
