AFTERMARKET HID KITS...... question.

Hey guys, Im about to install HID Kits on a friend's C350 on his low-beams and foglights and wanted to know if the w204 threw an error like on the W203 when adding these kits?.. do they need a relay kit ...etc. like on the w203s ?? Anyone with experience on this matter please post your suggestions...thankyou. !!

yes it does give the bulb out error. you need a capacitor harness to overcome the problem.

Will the light have a cut off? If not, don't do it.

Anyone know what capacitor size? and how it should be wired?

Lakerz4sho 01-28-2008 08:25 PM

yes there's a cut off w/ the halogen projectors. it's clean and doesn't blind anybody.. i've done many tests driving behind and head on w/ my friends .. from various distances.

a capacitor harness will just be one extra wire that you add to the loop.. most stores that sell hid kits will sell this additional harness for like 20-40 bucks, specifically for euro cars that give the bulb out warning. the plugs will plug in to your existing kit.

I suggest you use the 10,000K Banbo HID kit, it comes with a resister and the looks very close to factory. I installed them on my 01 C320 in my headlights and foglights. Got no error message a great visability.

I stop by a local performance shop and asked them about aftermarket hid kits. They wanted 150 for the kit and extra 100 for installaltion. Does anyone know or have pictures step by step for installing it? I want to save 100 as a bit stepp

look for the DDM kit online. do a google search. it's something like 135 for the kit with 1 year warranty.

it costs 25 or 35 bucks to add a lifetime warranty to the BULBS AND BALLASTS!

so for 160, you have a lifetime warranty on a great quality HID kit. that's what I have in my c300 right now.

highly suggsted.. but you will need the capacitor harness to get rid of the bulb out error.

If its a good kit, it should be just plug and play and come with instructions for what to plug up where. Its just a matter of where you are going to put the ballast and the resister. But its pretty easy to install the headlight ones, but the foglights are harder because you have less space. I reccomend the BANBO 10,000K. They look as close to factory HID's as they come. Nice and blue to a light violet purple.
