Can we make a TSB thread?

I was just wondering if we can make a TSB thread for all the w204 owners in this forum.

On the toyota forum we make such threads and made it sticky and just update and add TSB as they come out.

I don't have any copies of TSB but for those of you who could get a TSB in PDF i would appreciate if a thread dedicated for TSB be created.

Thanks.

haha

i just googled it.
technical service bulletins

? why do we need em

Technical Service Bulletin - the service notices that periodically come out so that dealerships can address specific known issues.

You need them because my experience is that not every service writer at every dealership is aware of solutions to known problems when you drive up with something that needs fixing. Knowledge is power.

Tsb +1

Ah:nix::nix: Sounds like a "Plan"

TSB = A polite way for MB to issue recalls without having to call them recalls and scare the crap out of their customers ha ha.

jrct9454 02-04-2008 04:10 PM

Well, not really - every car maker uses the TSB concept - some call them by other monikers, but everybody issues service bulletins.

Anything that isn't life-threatening or deeply tied up in a safety issue is likely to wind up as a TSB. Some will escalate to recall status if enough cars come in with a specific problem.

chilledbenz 02-05-2008 12:02 AM

A TSB is a factory recall...so they don't get a government mandated recall. If you look at most new cars they have zero recalls, but many TSB's. They just catch stuff before the government has to step in causing lots of bad pr for the companies. But like mentioned, its usually stuff thats not a big deal and in most cases they will perform them at your servicings without you even knowing.

The great thing about having access to the TSBs is that these documents tell the service adviser what "key complaints" the customer has to say in order for the repair to be made. Complaining of the exact problem described in the TSB (as well as having a copy of it with you!) can make all the difference in the world in getting the dealer to make the repair.

Periodically check this site and search on your vehicle model number to see what updates MB has posted. It's quite informative..

The link don't work.

Any mods in here hope you can create a thread for TSB or TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS for our w204 and make it sticky. :y

Hope you guys can contribute to the TSB and upload it as pdf file so everyone can have access to it.

Not all dealers are aware of the TSB so it would be great to have a copy here so that we are updated. :naughty:
