I just handed in my 2004 volvo s60R and I am looking for a new car. I just test drove the 300c in an automatic and it seems like it has decent power. (nothing like the 300hp in the volvo but not bad) I will be getting the 6 speed though so it should have some more pep in it. I am getting the car fully loaded and I was wondering if people chose the leather or this mbtext. The seats in the volvo were the nicest seats i have ever sat in so i am not sure that I will find the comfort like that again. The dealer did not have the leather in one of their cars for me to look at and I was wondering if it is worth it to spend the extra cash to get the leather or to just stay with the mbtext. thanks for any input

Very few folks buy the leather. My dealer never orders it unless a special order. The MB-tex is more durable. I do not know if there is any comfort difference. However, you will find the MB seats to be a bit firm.

I have leather in my E, and wish the mbtext stuff was available then for that, its great, doesnt get to hot, easy to clean, i mean i am always spilliing liquor all over the front seat JK!! but it is easy to maintain, no cracks, get it over the leathe my opinion, save the money for the leather and get the amg wheels they offer.

the choice was between the infinti G35 and the mercedes 300c. The G35 had the power and was a beatiful car but could not get the dealership to work with me on price. They are the only infiniti dealership within 200 miles of me so they seemed to be a bunch of D****.

Would you be happy seating on vinyl seat? Is the C300 is fully loaded with out leather seats?
Go for the C350 it has enough power

Parting with that S60R must have been difficult. I have the MB-tex. The seats are very comfortable, but the S60R is tough to beat. As for power, all four of my previous cars had turbos. They were all great. The cool thing about a naturally aspirated engine with decent power is, the power is immediate. It seems, the claims of no turbo lag made by car companies companies just isn't true. My friend has a 335i, which has lag, while minimal, still quite noticable. I also have the 6spd

The door panels and headrests are leather also.

I suppose your interior will be black so perhaps the visual difference between Tex and leather will not be as dramatic as the lighter colors. I have sat in both materials in Cashmere Beige and there is a very considerable difference in appearance. So I bought leather.

I always love this question because the people who spent the extra money on leather always find a reason to justify it, while the ones with MB Tex are perfectly happy having it and saving themselves some money. Personally your not getting enough leather for the price they ask for it (as stated above the inserts or the part you sit on top and bottom are the only parts leather the rest is MB Tex). For S, SL, CL, and AMG cars its full leather and would be worth the extra scratch.
