My car is still under warranty, so I guess I'm going to have to take it in and let them drive it for a week. The squeaking only happens (seemingly without rhyme or reason) about once out of every 10 to 15 times I stop. And, it seems to be more in places where I'm on the brakes for a number of minutes (like a drive-thru) before I start to roll forward. My foot is completely off the brake when the squeaking starts. I also showed my advisor the star bulletin on this thread, but he didn't seem to think that was the issue. It seems like many folks on this thread have had something at least similar but that, even when they think it's fixed, the issue seems to come back within a few weeks.

I know sometimes a video is helpful, and I finally caught the sound. This was in stop-and-go traffic. Every time I release the brake and roll forward, you'll hear the squeak, squeak squeak with every revolution. Then, you'll hear the squeak stop as I apply my foot to the brake. The dealer currently has some parts waiting for me that they think will fix the problem. I'm supposed to take it in later this week and will let you know if it does the trick. Let me know if this is the same sound anyone else was experiencing (you might have to turn your volume way up).

i just got my car back today after the 3rd visit for the same
problem...so far it seems okay but ill give it a few more
days...supposedly the brake pads arent disengaging after a stop so they sanded mine down a few millimeters and adjusted the springs on the calipers...but we'll see...the video sounds like mine...i have one recorded on my iphone maybe i can upload it soon.

Did you direct them to the Star Bulletin P-B-42.20/101a that was mentioned earlier in the thread? Did they think it had to do with the parking brake? Also, if you do a quick search on Youtube, there are a few other videos showing what appears to be the exact same issue (see below). I'm going to show these to the dealer when I go in later this week as well. Hopefully we can get a definitive fix on this and not drive around embarrased. I take clients out to lunches and events, and I'm always praying the squeak doesn't happen with them in the car!

exact same sound...my service advisor said it was a problem with the updated springs in the newer models...but seeing that its happening in previous models i think its some factory malfunction that benz should address. hopefully mine doesnt act up again...

Don't you just know that service advisors hate it when owner post the exact same problem on youtube.
Somewhat limits their use of the "we've never had that problem before" excuse.
By the way, that sounds like brakes.

I went to the dealer today to have the issue looked at again, and they did discover it was the parking brake (I had a feeling it wasn't the regular brakes, as my foot is never on the pedal when the squeaking is occurring). The service bulletin they mentioned is 42.20-P-052990. I don't believe this is the same as the one mentioned earlier in this thread unless it's just an updated version. Like mfkl2, they updated the springs. There were also wear marks on the strator clip, so I'm pretty confident this is the issue. Hopefully it doesn't come back, and hopefully this helps someone else.
Attached are the notes on my invoice.

I did the same thing as Lynch did and so far no problems. I suggest if you are having this issue to do the same thing I did and just bring a coyp of the invoice on here and they will take care of it.
