Dealer Invoice Question...we have different invoices

Hi!

Thanks for all the inputs regarding the options.

I think I'm going with silver/black w/ PII, MM, & Auto.

Dealer MSRP is $40275...and quotes that he will offer $500 over invoice, which comes a bit over $38000.

But Capitaloneautobuying.com states the invoice as $37514.

Am I missing something? Does dealers have different pricing?

Thanks in advance...

There is an additional invoice charge of $400-$500 dollars that the dealer pays for his share of MB advertising. Because it varies by region, it is not included in the published invoice amounts shown by websites.

Also, you need to see if you are paying dealer handling & prep which most dealerships try to tack on. That is usually between $400 and $500 dollars. Unlike the advertising charge, h&P is pure profit for the dealership.:)

Configured as such: P2 + MM + Auto

I calc'd MSRP to be $40,275
Invoice (verified on edmunds and capauto) is $37,514

So your numbers are correct.

So just as Colorado stated, its possible they tagged on their ad fees to make it $38,014. Many say this is mandatory...but it's all negotiable (remember there is a 3% holdback on MSRP)

So the ACTUAL (unpublished) dealer invoice is $37,514 invoice - $1,208 holdback + $500 ad fee = $36,806.

Give them a fair profit of $1,500 and your talking a realistic offer of $37,000 + tax/lic. That's how many are able to get under invoice on their cars but it's all supply and demand.
