ML 350-Black=Sold. New 08 C300 4Matic, Black/Black, P1, Ipod, Auto7speed, 10/10 hit 100,000 miles
BOTH MY FOGS ARE CRACKED, WE SHOULD ALL DEMAND AN UPGRADE FROM MB. It is a poor material to use in that application. It is too rigid and cracks way too easily.

I might be daring and order one since I too have joined the group with broken lenses

I think I'll try one of these. I've replaced one fog already and right now I need another. Odd crack this time though. It's a complete circle around the lens about 1/4" in from the edge. No sign of impact that I can see. Wonder if it's thermal shock that occurs when cold water hits the heated lens? If it is, and it's common, it is a defect in material or workmanship and perhaps a warranty issue. BMW had the same problem back when the E36 3 series was introduced. They replaced them under warranty at that time.

The BMW fogs were Hella also.

like others have mentioned...after replacing the light apply the lamin-x film to reduce the chances of it happening again...

I believe the sport models do have the AMG styling package.

Really? I ordered them and they were just a tad too large, so I simply trimmed them. Best investment ever! 40k on the clock and not a single scratch or crack. I also have the headlight films. PITA to install but a great investment!

carpart.com for replacement.

After 18 mths I just had my second lamin-x / or similar film put on for $40.

Lights were in perfect condition when I took of the old film that was completely trashed.

Maybe they sent me the wrong part. The one they sent me was oval in shape and the one I took out was round. I was mad at them so just returned it and went to the dealer to get one.

They must have sent you the films for the luxury fogs, not the sport fogs.

They sent you the wrong one for sure. I order two set, one for the C and one for the TSX, the C fit perfect, but the TSX one was cut way short, they never took care of me and I was emailing them back and forth, so I just said ***k it and put it on anyways.

Yes. But you can not have your fog light for a long time. I used to turn my fog light on at night all the time and then come winter, it started to exhibit burn mark. Lamin-X did stand behind their product and replace my fog light film. Yes mine were the high heat type..

About 30 min. Put the car on ramps and remove the underside cover to get at it.

I think perhaps one of you is talking about the lamin-x and one is talking about the fog lights themselves. I can't see trimming the fog lights to make them fit.

Schvamf, are you saying that the aftermarket fog light didn't fit and you had to get an OEM?

2008 C300 Sport
Can anyone confirm whether a 2008 C300 Sport falls into the "w/amg" or "w/o amg" category when finding parts on trademotion parts websites? I just ordered the "w/o amg" fog light and it does not seem to fit.

I'm talking about online catalogs like this:

http://www.vipgermanparts.com/partlo...layCatalogid=0

Same for the lower black center and outer grilles (they all caught rocks over the winter). I ordered "Sport w/o amg" because my car is a Sport, not AMG (duh), and it also does not fit. I'm having a serious WTF moment here. I just emailed the dealer I bought it from to try and figure out what went wrong.

Has anyone else had luck ordering parts through one of these online catalogs?

Here's something idiotic: My dealer told me I can't pass MA inspection with a broken fog light. It's optional equipment! It shouldn't have to work!

I got these and they were wrong. They wanted to charge me a 15% restocking fee. Stay away from these. Ebay straightened everything out.

These worked perfect.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

When you reinstall the fogs put the speed clip on the metal plate of the fog instead of the bumper. That way you can screw it in from thev front. Much easier to reinstall and swap in the future.
