Not getting my 08........
 

After purchasing the 08 C300 last week I received a phone call today from the dealership saying that they cannot order me my 08 since they stopped production and are making the 09's starting in June, why in the hell didn't they tell me this last week!!! Now I'm really concerned that the 09 MSRP's will jump dramatically due to it's popularity.....need some feedback on what you all think I should do (a) fold like a lawn chair and get one off the lot that has been driven around or (b) stick to my guns and demand the same price for the 09 as the 08

I doubt you will be able to get it at the same price because the features and packages will have different offerings. I suspect a $500-$800 jump in the base price (based on the mid-model year increase in January) and another 5-10% on the different packages...and more options.

I'm sure you will be able to negotiate a price around invoice for the 09 anyway. Everyone is having a tough time selling cars.

Since the first badge of 09 is same as 08 (changes only at 2009.5), fold.

If you gave a down payment at certain price, I would try to hold them to it for an '09.

Why not negotiate a really good deal on a '08 since the '09s are coming?

what is it that you want that they cannot find one for you? Let me know exactly what you want.

They found one car in Quebec but it's loaded (auto) and in red (no thanks)

I really want a car with less than 10 km in blk (both interior and exterior) with sport package in 6 spd.

P.S Must be a Canadian car...don't want to go through the whole border/regulation red tape.

This is our plan but why settle for something which costs more and possibly receive a small price adjustment and still come out paying more than the original deal........

Call a dealer that is not operated by MB Corporate. They may have more stock available still.

that sucks man! Your dealer is a piece of *****. sounds like you had your heart set on this car. you should really look at a 09 audi A4. it gives the 300 a run in all aspects.

I don't understand, isn't it better to get the 09 instead of the 08? :confused::nix: Sure you pay 500 bucks more or whatever it is but you get a car with one year newer (better for resale value) and you get better choices on options then what the 08's had.

Seeing how they told you they aren't taking orders for 08's anymore it makes lean more and more towards the idea that more options are going to be standard equipment (heated seats, memory seats?) that also means a price increase most likely. You could wait till the 09's hit the lots and then get a great deal on a leftover 08 model. Or as the other poster said, check out the 09 A4 :nix:

What? The dealer should eat the 500 bucks because they made a mistake. trust me Even invoice there's a gold watch in it.

i agree with the last post, after placing an order and then told "sorry not happening" wait... is not acceptable!

i would make sure they give u the 09 for a good price or do waht someone else suggested fine an 08 somewhere on a lot and get a good deal on them.

Dealer just e-mailed me.....'09 has been ordered with no increase:)

Good luck, when do you expect shipment of the '09? What is the differences offered in the '09?

dealer will notify me as soon as he receives the VIN, differences in model years not sure yet, I'm assuming it's the same as the '08......:confused:

I ordered an '09 from Oakville MB. They honoured the '08 pricing. Good luck.

Do you know when the 2009.5s are arriving? And what will the major changes be compared to the first 2009s?
