imboom 05-03-2008 09:47 PM

ATSOBE, you may want to invest some money into stickers also, they add just as much horsepower as those Tornado "superchargers":crazy: do.

Why would you possibly want to put such crap on a new Mercedes? You are asking for nothing but problems; plus you would void your warranty:slap:

Derspeed 05-04-2008 12:10 AM

Wow, one whole PSI increase too.

ATSOBE 05-04-2008 11:16 AM

That why I asked in the forum guys. I new to mercedes but come from a Jap background in cars, A lot of mods for honda and toyota. I saw it on the net looking around and was curuios if it worked. I see alot of mercedes owner do so many upgrade in theses car in the forum. But one reply say it wil void my warranty. What you guy experience with these upgrade

Savage c-300 05-04-2008 04:10 PM

i dont know about the other stuff, but the tornado seemed to work when i had it in my pathfinder. it didnt increase hp, but it did give me a boost in MPG. i gained 2MPG. that doesnt seem a lot, but anything helps when youre driving a SUV. not sure if its going to do anything for a sedan.

+1

Give it a try and keep us posted on how it works out...

After all, no one is going to know the result until you give it a try... :y

Simple answer:

Don't do it.

No personal experience here with the product, but sometimes when something seems too good to be true, it really IS too good to be true. The description of the product on the website seems like a fine example of techno-babble designed to lure unsuspecting/uninformed consumers who want cheap power gains.

Furthermore, with the warranty issues and all, I really don't think the power gain (if any) would be worth the time/money/effort. Unless you gain like 50 HP, you won't even notice the difference while driving, and I seriously doubt that this product will add as much.

If you really want more power, do it the right way: save up money and buy a proper supercharger/turbo kit, custom or from Brabus/Kleeman/etc. Do it right once.

Unrelated comment: what's with all the sarcasm, guys? Why so mean? He asked a legitimate question, and I don't think he deserves all the ridicule. Simply unnecessary. Same goes for those guys that routinely reply "STFF" to everything. WTF?

delirium 05-05-2008 02:34 AM

if it was that easy & cheap to gain that much HP, then every performance car would have one from the factory... more power & more MPG... ya rite.

ohlord 05-05-2008 03:29 AM

IF

you think that an electric motor that is drawing a bit over 1 H.P.(a horsepower equals 745.69987158227022 Watts exactly) is going to create an additional 10-30 horsepower on your car.You need to learn much more about engines and cars before you consider more horsepower to kick around:eek:
Getting something from nothing is still nothing:y Except your wallet will be somewhat lighter(to the tune of $399.99)

that’s exactly what this forum is all about

misterng 05-05-2008 02:28 PM

Don't do it. This fan can only gain you 2-3 horses the most while you're on the freeway but while you're in the city and your car is not going fast enough, it will easily over heat because there isn't enough air pressure to push the fan to run.

joebenz 05-05-2008 02:58 PM

that's not gonna work. i remember seeing infomercials on that product a long time ago. the numbers they claim are ridiculous.

i come from a japanese car background too and this Tornedo thing wouldnt work on those either.

definitely dont bother with it

jdiianni 05-05-2008 03:01 PM

Confused.

I am new to the whole european car world as well. I have always had American muscle. Love the C350 and don't think I will every buy a non-german car ever again.

That being said, looking at the 1psi air intake and supercharge, I am a little confused. The c350 has dual air intakes? So, wouldn't you need two of these?

StickyZ 05-05-2008 03:54 PM

seriously, read, read and read some more. in 3 months from now you will be amazed about how much you learn just from reading these boards and you will also realize how close you were to buying a freakin tornado product. geez.

jdiianni 05-06-2008 10:18 AM

Okay. I talked to the genius over at my hot mercedes and he informed me i should just buy two to be safe.

In other words, like everyone is saying, don't buy it at all.

Isn't the "secret" to more power getting more air in and out of the cylinder? If so, how can placing an obstruction (excuse me, turbonator) in the intake aid air flow?

And you have to inject fuel and ignite it.
