Did I get a good deal on my 08 C350?

Hey, I just bought an '08 C350 Sport today and I was wondering I got ripped off or got a good deal.

-Black on Black MB-Tex
-P2 Package
-Multimedia Package
-iPod integration kit
-Panorama sunroof
-24 miles on it

MSRP was like $43,580. Invoice was like $40,989. I paid $36,000 plus tax and fees which came to $38,470. The dealer offered $40,000 at first then talked to his boss when I said I was going to leave and offered $37,000. I was still about to leave and then offered $36,000. Any comments appreciated.

Way better deal than anyone here in Canada can get! :naughty: BTW, please fill in your location as this will help other members in answering your question.
I think you did well.

over $4k under invoice?? Sounds like you ripped off the dealer, not the other way around! Did you have a trade in that helped the dealer make this deal happen? Even with the 3% holdback the dealer gets, it sounds to me as if they at best broke even here.
I would say GREAT deal from what I see.

Yes, your deal rocked the world, and I further get depressed about mine. Put it this way: I paid the same for 300 with only P2.

Sorry pal, but this total BS! No dealer in the world would have given you this deal unless the vehicle was used, a demo or stolen!

At least that makes me feel better. :)

That's way better than a deal, that's a steal!

I paid about $45K out the door for my C350 equipped about that same -pano +paint.

Souns like a real good deal CONGRATS!

tanktube67 06-22-2008 12:34 PM

but at the end nobody gets a good deal, all of us get screw by the dealers.
just my 2 cents.

EmCeeSmith 06-22-2008 03:36 PM

You must have been in the right place at the right time at the right dealer... it might also help that they may be preparing for the delivery of the '09 model year. After all, it's nearly July.

I paid 42.2k without the MM package. Hell of a deal, sir. :y

That's really satisfying to hear because I'm just a college student who made his first car purchase. On top of that, I bought this car at the first dealer I physically went to within a matter of 30 minutes. I did some extensive research on it on sites like edmunds.com before which told me to never rush purchasing a car and always visit several dealerships to get a good price. I even read an article on the web which was titled something like the "Art of haggling"..haha. But I threw out everything I had learned so it was kinda nerve wrecking, lol. While sitting with the dealer doing paperwork, I thought to myself that either the TMV value "What others are paying" on edmunds.com was total BS (stated 42,043) or I was really getting a good deal. I thought it was total BS because how could someone with no experience purchasing cars get a good deal.:naughty:

I'll definitely post up some pics of my new baby when I can!

Post some picts of your sales contract -- I wanna see the numbers!

iolithblue 06-22-2008 11:36 PM

dont forget you have single handedly and directly contributed to lowereing the resale of all c-300s in your area!

good ob on the negotiation, the dealer should have accepted your 37k, not tried to get you up a bit more, and then you hit them with 36. that part is the real sucker punch.

ironman2008 06-23-2008 04:33 AM

Do you get any maintenance service free for the first 4 years or so when you purchase a new MB?

CarGuru 06-23-2008 11:12 AM

I'm calling B.S. :bs: Too, I'm not mad at ya but I paid $36K for my P1 (Sport) C300 almost a year ago. I don't see an MB retailer giving a discount that deep just to get the sale. Losing mass amounts of profit doesn't keep the doors open or the lights on, you must have given them a Honda Fit or Prius in trade?

I'm kind of agreeing re: the BS... :bs: Somehow, I just don't see them doing this. Did this car come with 7 miles on it, or 7,000? If you did get that great of a deal, good job! Deals like that can't be had in the NY Tristate area too well.

akuma84 06-24-2008 06:08 PM

If you want to see the sales contract, PM me your e-mail addy.

Lakerz4sho 06-24-2008 06:20 PM

that means u paid the same amount as me for my c300 w/ MM package and 18" amg automatic. has to be BS.

benggolf 06-24-2008 08:14 PM

LMAO! I am surprised that this thread is still going on.
If the chap is telling the truth, well good for him. Let's congratulate him for doing a better job than any of us. After all, only he knows the real truth.

If he just wants to bring attention to himself by advertising an
"unrealistic" deal, well let us just leave it at that. You all are just "fanning" the fire. :rolf: Sour grapes???

 MB sales are up 350% on the new C class and 08 are almost all sold out in all models. there is already an order list on 09's.

And ya posting crap like this makes some people who have NO sence of economics think it is possible. Invoice you say to be in the $40k range and they gave you $4000 below invoice on a car that is CLEARLY lower priced and better equiped than any other C class modle that came before it. I guess the people at that store are still in grade 2 math right!

Lets see... They have no problems selling the car and you get $4000 under.
either you are Full of it or you are not telling the full story of the car you bought or finally your dealer is on crack.:slap:
