Parking Light Install Questions..

Alright,
So I got two pairs of 195 6led hyper white bulbs, I put them in while car was OFF, and it turned right on.

They never seem to turn off, why is this? Is there a trick?

I know our headlights use 2 bulbs on each side, but I changed one on each side and will not go off, even when I start the car, turn it back off, same thing.. so I put the factory bulbs back in.

Any help is appreciated,
Thank you!

Any kind of LED bulbs you will need to wire a 5W 100ohm resistor to it.
The LED bulbs have a very low draw and is very sensitive to any kind of current in the wire, whether the car is on or off.
That is why LED bulbs stay on all the time and/or flicker when it's on.

The resistor is not available at Radio Shack. Your best bet is to go to an electronics surplus or specialty store.

I never have had this problem in the dozen plus cars I've installed LED bulbs in..
how/where do I wire in this resistor? Into the headlamp harness (parking lamp wire)?

I have never heard of this personally, but hope there is something else I am missing.

For some reason none of the LED bulbs work properly in my W204 in any of the interior lights, rear license lights and city lights, except for the LED festoon bulb in the rear dome light. I had to resort to replacing all the bulbs with Polarg bulbs instead and I am pretty happy with it.
I had absolutely no problem with LED bulbs in my Passat.

This post will describe installing the resistor:

^^^ Yeah just follow the instructions

led will work fine in the front dome lights and it isn't only the w204 that experience this problem all mercedes benz vehicle have it

So I just install the resistor between the +/- wires n the headlamp harness?

I know our cars have 2 bulbs on each side, so I need 4 resistors for the front? Or does anyone know if they are connected to just two wires coming out the headlamp? Any diagrams?

Thanks guys, I want to do my front and rear dome as well..

I wouldn't do led in front parking lights since the resistor tends to get real hot and melt stuff and it wouldn't shine as much as hyper white 168 bulbs would

For dome lights you don't need resistor to get the led to work properly also in the rear I would go festoon bulb instead of led iono it might be just me :nix:

I do have 168/194 hyper white LED bulbs in my hand, just want to know exactly how I am to wire these in.. so I know when I get under the hood.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Are you talking about the Eyelid bulbs? If so, there is nothing special about replacing them. Just twist and turn and slap your 194 wedge in place of the factory bulbs. The side where the driver is located is a bit of a pain to swap out.

I know how to replace them... it's a matter of wiring the resistor in.

I want to know which wires, and where, that is all.

I have the 5w 100ohm,,

Search for LED will turn up a DIY.

so with the eyelid bulbs do you twist and then pull to get the bulbs out? or do you justgive slight tug on the wire and they just pull out?

I was going to get some LED for the eyelids, but on advice of the seller, it's best to get the Polarg H4s.

For bulb replacement:

and for the resistor placement:

Good luck
