C350 slower than E350?
 

i had a little race with a E350 from a stop. I took off first, but he caught up to me & then passed me by a lot, just kept pulling on me. What gives, i thought since the C350 is smaller but has the same engine that i would win? What gives.. grr, very disappointed... i was in sport mode & flooring it, RPMs shifted at around 6500 for each gear.

Doesn't make sense according to MBUSA 0-60 for C350 is 6.1 and E350 6.5, not sure on the standing 1/4 ET. Anyone?

Do you have aftermarket rims? If theyre heavier than stock, it could slow the car down considerably. The E350 tests I've read have had it going 0-60 in 6.3, which is very close to the C350's times.

Yeah I could have sworn the C300 & E350 perform about the same, so the C350 should have been quicker? Perhaps he had an E500 or E550 badged as a E350 just for doing this? Something might be wrong with your car? As an example I have been able to beat a 1st generation Lexus IS300, a 2001-ish body BMW 525i , a late model V8 Ford Explorer and my own 265hp Nissan Frontier with our C300 sport just to give you an idea.

You mean E63? If it was the E63 he would have been totally blasted.

Sounds like you have been shifting manually. Generally on automatics, they are much faster shifting than if you rely on the "auto-sport shifting" mechanism. They are no way as responsive as a manual tranny.

I clocked a 14.55@98mph at sea level with my C350. The motor is actually very very high in potential. Previous gen C350's have been able to hit 13.8's or so with just an ECU tune and exhaust.

No, i wasnt shifting in "manual" mode... hmm, it was night time & so it was dark, but the badge looked like a 350, but its possible that it was a 550 & I just couldnt see it, but even the engine sounded like mine, it didnt have the deeper muscle sound of a v8 at high speed. it sounded pretty much like my car.

The only way is to take your car out to the track and clock it.

I was hugely paranoid with my 02 WRX if I clocked anywhere above a 13 even once. I'd plug the Cobb Accessport in and try to reflash everything then to find out that I forgot the 50lb bag of rice in my trunk. :smash::smash:

he had something under the hood. Unless the e350 just has a better numbers after the intial start
